I think the Doggies are a big chance to get beaten for a number of reasons;
1) it is their first game out of the Etihad tin can for the entire year and it will be on a ground that is much wider than they are used to. The Demons love the MCG and know how to play not just the dimensions of the ground but also the unique atmospheric traits of the ground.
2) if you look at who the dogs have beaten this year they really haven’t had much competition. They have beaten Freo, St. Kilda, Carlton, and Brisbane who are all bottom 8 teams. Adelaide is the only team in the 8 they have beaten which is a good win.
3) Melbourne plays a similar style in terms of contested footy and will be chock full of confidence after their demolition of the Suns last week. The doggies have not beaten a team that is just as good at the hard ball as they are in 2016.
4) Melbourne have Jack Viney. Viney = PAIN!

Don’t forget about a bloke named Christain Petracca. Will be a gun and he will be the new Watts/Natanui debate with St. Kilda’s Paddy McCartin. Stay tuned

Ban UFC? Okay, but first we must ban...

I love the UFC and MMA in general. I feel that that there are way too many cooks in the kitchen these days who want to be head chef and they will say anything to get heard. The problem is their opinions are flawed like a lot of my “suggestions” I listed. I don’t think people realize that I was taking the piss out of myself and the argument towards the end but that is how I felt at the time writing it. It is starting to feel like the society in the movie Demolition Man.

Ban UFC? Okay, but first we must ban...

I agree. The post was supposed to take the first couple of points seriously and then moves into more of a satire approach. I think many people are not seeing this and taking everything mentioned seriously. MMA is like any other combat sport; peoole know the risks involved when they undertake it and it is their choice to do so.

Ban UFC? Okay, but first we must ban...

So highly trained fighters who are placed is specialized weight categories fighting in a specialized arena to protect themselves and the spectators doesn’t count? I think you have lost it!

Ban UFC? Okay, but first we must ban...

When I wrote this I put into comparison a number of activities that promote similar dangerous activities that no-one blinks an eye at. As I moved down the list you will noticed I was getting very liberal with my choices and the point is virtually everything can influence bad behaviors. It is our role as parents to filter the exposure of activities I and only I feel are not suited to our children.

Ban UFC? Okay, but first we must ban...

Fair point. I was looking in the perspective of preseason happenings and form, as well as the nuffys slrukkng their teams.

Myths about the 2015 AFL ladder (Part 1)

I know about the name. It was an error that needs to be fixed.

Regardless if they are different sports the way the two dominate their opponents is very similar.

UFC’s Ronda Rousey is the female Mike Tyson

Fair point. Some players like Rioli and Walters have the potential to make it to the A-Grader level yet for whatever reason they cannot get there. The break it would be for these two to have another season of highlights riddled with injury, not being delisted.

2015 AFL: Make it or break it list (part II)

If you read what I posted I didn’t say he wasn’t a gun he needs to have an injury free season to take pressure off Freo’s two main targets. He is in a similar boat to Jetta regarding consistency and taking his game to the next level.

2015 AFL: Make it or break it list (part II)

The point was Waite had a better year than his last few and as soon as he hit his straps he was off to North. The pressure is on him to continue to form from the Blues otherwise both the North and Waite will be seen as a bust.

2015 AFL: Make it or break it list (part II)

I agree yet I feel there is a tremendous upside to the way the Demons are doing it this time around than the horror period of 2008-2012. The Demons have a structured development team and are willing to let the kids work on their game rather than throwing them to the wolves like Jack Watts and Jimmy Toumpas did. There is a post on my website www.thepeptalk.com.au which goes into it further (written by a guest poster and that is why I haven’t place it on The Roar) and I think the future is bright for the good ol’ MFC.

Snake eyes: Is Melbourne's bad luck in the draft changing?

Fair point. I actually forgot at the time of writing the article. Thankyou.

Stop reminding Demon supporters of their drafting failures

I hear you Tony. It is quite pathetic as you could find a similar case for most clubs.

Stop reminding Demon supporters of their drafting failures

“Like a rolling maul” was a reference to the Bob Dylan song “Like a Rolling Stone”.Nothing more and like everyone else I hate the rolling maul!

Australian rules football: Like a rolling maul

But are the changes making the game better? I beg to differ and if you ask the common AFL supporter out there they would agree. How many times do you hear ‘I wish the game was played like it was in the 1990s with more contests, not this keeping-off game we are seeing in 2014.’

Australian rules football: Like a rolling maul

The point of the article was to highlight how thing we were taught as kids by parents and coaches have almost become obsolete due to knee-jerk rule changes and the way the game is policed.

How many time have you shaken your head recently when you have seen a kick bounce at right-angles and paid deliberate out of bounds? What about the appalling Rohan Bail rushed behind decision from the weekend? What runs through your head when you see the player on the ground who is going for the ball making light contact to the legs of an opposition player standing near the contest and they get pinged?

This is not trolling and I take offence to that. It was an opinion on how times have changed and a game that was simple to umpire a number of years ago has become confusing to govern and watch.

Australian rules football: Like a rolling maul

With Wimbledon and the Tour de France starting I can’t see much traction for the event. Will be a struggle to compete with these two annual marque events.

Have the Commonwealth Games become irrelevant?
