Tim has been an NRL statistician for ABC Radio Grandstand since 1999, primarily as part of their Canberra coverage. Tim has loved rugby league since Sterlo was a kid with lots of hair but was cursed with having no personal sporting ability whatsoever. He couldn't take a hit in footy, was a third division soccer player making up numbers, plays off 41 in golf and is possibly the worlds worst cricketer ever. He has always been good at arguing the point though and he has a great memory of what happened. Follow Tim on Twitter @GorskiOPork

In the Whitehead incident the ref was advised of foul play – eg a strip. He’s allowed to change a decision in that instance.
In regards to double movement, that language is ambiguous.

There is some really weird stuff in the NRL rule book

I think it is more about what half of the field it happens in.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Yeah. I hear you.
My shame is I bawled out two young ladies for constantly walking in front of me while I was trying to watch the game. I was under stress and over reacted. They were Raiders fans BTW…
If you’re out there girls, I’m sorry…

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

Five metres out: yes. Ten metres out: No. there is only one half (apart from Wighton) I would give a chance to stop Papalii one on one from ten metres out and that’s cooper cronk.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

Forty Twenty, there is no percentage for me going down that path. there is no percentage for anyone doing it…

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

He just panicked. that’s all. nothing more. its just a stuff up. I truly with it was more. I wish it was a conspiracy that, once uncovered, would see my boys awarded the trophy. But it isn’t at all. its just human error.
from a human who doesn’t make many errors and is a good bloke and a great ref. lets not destroy him for this.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

He just panicked. That’s all. That is also a normal, human reaction.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

All good Mushi. As you know, I’ve made mistakes myself.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

We certainly did eat our feelings…

23 hours in Sydney

Or if it had gone against the Roosters and the raiders had won.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

What exactly do you suggest I do instead?

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!

No. Pre, during and post game 95% of the Roosters supporters I’ve interacted with have been awesome. There have been some bad eggs but every team has those.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Mushi was a bit of a phallus though

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Mlp is correct

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Dude… look at the links. I’ve been on this issue for five years. Five. This specific issue about trainers and their potential impact if not properly regulated.
Who knows and who cares? Most respondents to this article is who. Maybe you don’t but frankly you’re a nasty moron. So I don’t care what you think.
You can print your opinions on a pineapple and insert them where the sun doesn’t shine.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

The Nrl think this is an agenda

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

It’s not the trainers fault. They are all doing it. It is that the Nrl allow them to do it.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Never argued that. Only the presence of the trainer. Plus I don’t think the trainers should be counted like officials. I think they should be treated like partisan pitch invaders.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

He was doing it

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Bang on Rupert.
The six again issue was a mistake. They happen. We all make mistakes.
I wish it didn’t happen but they occur.
The trainers on the field is a result of the NRL allowing it to happen long term.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

And the 6 again couldn’t be overruled by the laws of the game.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

See, I reckon that is actually part of the Broncos problem. Their playmakers just do what Alfie says. They don’t use or develop their instincts. I don’t think it helps in the long term, but it constitutes a triple risk.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Let me be clear people: The Roosters did nothing wrong. They are deserving premiers. They were great all year.
Isn’t it a pity that two utter blunders have us saying anything else.

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

If Whitehead gets to that ball he may have well scored…

The NRL knew the risks for years about on-field trainers and did nothing

Yes.
