It is 5 examples from 24 seasons. 21% of the time, Aligns better to one in five seasons. But, fair point. We might be due.
But my point was – not that it couldn’t happen – it was that it was unlikely: “highly unlikely to even make the 2022 grand final, let alone win it” were my words. 20% isn’t highly likely.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Right… Well I’m all turned around on this. In fact, I reckon the Sea Eagles and Rabbitohs are basically locks for the 2022 GF.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
I’ve made a very clear point and you’re quibbling around derivations.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
So EJ, lets be clear, you are betting on the Bulldogs to make the 2022 GF. If that happens I will pay you 25 times the amount of your stake., Which is how much by the way?
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Baz?
Or Eagle Jack? 25/1 dogs making the 2022 GF?
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
So your definition of common is one in ten?
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Did either of those sides lose the first two games of the season that year?
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Well thank you for your opinion Mr Power.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
I’m saying that just 10% of the time, over 24 seasons, have sides been in the GF that have lost their first two games.
That’s a good sample and a clear trend.
Quibble all you want on exceptions.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Because the sides that lose two start getting shaky. Are the combinations working? Is the Captain leading? Does the coach have a good plan? Why has that bloke missed tackles? Who’s to blame? Press circling. Pressure builds. Staying calm and sticking to structures and plans becomes harder. Heads drop. Discontent brews. Press circle.
In round two or three you might lose two games and drop from 3rd to 5th. It could be just a hiccup. Lose at the beginning, well the whole foundation may be crook.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
I’ll give you 25/1 right now Baz. You taking it?
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Well, that’s assuming all teams had an equal chance to begin with. I am confident that – going into the season – I would happily have given 4/1 on both roosters and Manly getting into the granny. Whomever loses will be 10/1. That’s a big slide. Conversely, the Cows and the Wests Tigers I would have give no better than 20/1.
That’s the logic.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Maybe. It’s so early in the season the sheep and goats are still sorting out. I suspect the Knights are gonna be good though.
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
Spot on Baz
The loser of the Roosters-Eagles clash will be at long odds to make the decider
i do. hes got heart. and Hetherington could be the next Kevin Campion
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Statistically Brown was in the top defensive halves in 2021.
Along with Hynes, Cleary, Reynolds, Wighton and DCE. I’ll give you that. My impressions of him was how much he’d improved in attack, i hadn’t focused on his defensive improvement.
You don’t rate Papali’i and Tapine? There is not a single member of the Eels side I would swap for either. Junior Paulo is a great prop though.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
absolutely. pre 82 i was an eel.
underdog is the only way.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
i reckon you’ll be ok. i just don’t know where you’ll finish in the eight.
the roosters are the only side i’m confident will be top four.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
James will really benefit from penalties being awarded again running out of your defensive 40.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Yeah. But who do they get? Who is the new Jack Gibson?
Trent just got renewed. Bellamy won’t do it.
Cleary? Des?
To replace Arthur you’ve got to have a better option.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
I’m not convinced by the Sea Eagles depth. Their first team is great.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Well, CNK at the back. He was injured in round four 2021 and the Raiders were on the backfoot from then on. He’s crucial to the structure an KRM. Cotric is also back with his KRM. Adam Elliott brings a huge upside too.
The Raiders also had some bad luck and bad calls concertinaing, leading to dressing room disquiet. Then the halfback left. There were constant injuries. Even with all of this they made 10th.
They want you to write them off. They’d love that.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Don’t forget that the 2019 Panthers missed the finals and made the GF the next year.
The Raiders had a really disrupted season last year.
And Schneider – like Ilias at the Bunnies – is the only member of the Spine who isn’t a star.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Ya gotta have it Tony. Ya gotta have it.
The Eels and Rabbitohs are in a fight just to make the eight
Yes I do Kent
Ricky's Raiders just need some luck, there's no need to panic
