Is the next Wallabies golden generation just around the corner?

Not Sutcliffe presumably because author just picking from last 50 years
The best New Zealand Test cricket side of the last 50 years
Chats continued to play club cricket until about a year ago. He must have been close to 70!

Conway didn’t help NZ make the final. He hadn’t played for Black Caps test side until this tour

We might have to agree to disagree mate. In my opinion, player numbers don’t tell the full story. The place the particular sports code hold in the particular community is more important. For example, there are a lot of people, especially kids, playing soccer football in NZ. However, if a NZ kid is particularly big strong athletic and or skillful they tend (not always) to channeled in rugby sooner or later. Soccer in NZ doesn’t get the same support or success. Rugby union is not the #1 code in Aussie, and is typically played socially, so less likely to attract the same portion of top talent.
How to fix Australian rugby's trans-Tasman problem
NZ has 6 cricket teams in it’s domestic competition. Same as Oz. But if you made a trans Tasman comp for these teams, with 6 Kiwi teams and 6 Aust teams, Kiwi teams would get flogged (even during times when BlackCaps more or less competitive with Baggy Greens). Just like it wouldnt work if NZ tried to enter 15 teams in the NRL or 8 teams in the A league. To have a TT cricket comp that worked, you’d need more Aussie teams or less Kiwi teams.
How to fix Australian rugby's trans-Tasman problem
Kiwi Aussie banter is fine, and I don’t mind giving or getting, so long as it’s done in a spirit of mateship. Too often the Kiwi Aussie banter on the Roar gets nasty and unhealthy (and the Kiwis just as bad as the Aussies for that).
How to fix Australian rugby's trans-Tasman problem
It is a pathetic article. But there are some valid points in it. First, if the TT comp remains this one sided, it won’t last. Second, the only realistic way to make it more competitive in the short term is if the NZ talent pool is spread over a greater number of teams than the Aust talent pool. Having MP next year might help with that a little. I would also like to see a Maori team in SR.
How to fix Australian rugby's trans-Tasman problem
They’re different games. Plenty of players have excelled in one but been pretty average in the other. Time will tell if RTS is as good a fit for union. Some union or league players might also be good at boxing or cricket or Aussie Rules. Unprovable claims about NRL standards being higher than the ABs are a bit sad.

Reece Hodge at 10 as Dave Rennie makes huge changes to Wallabies team for Bledisloe 4
Dan Carter (fantastic player) was not expected to run the cutter at 10 for the ABs on debut. He was playing 12 in that game, between the very experienced Carlos and Tana. Carter had the size for 22 and played there a lot outside Carlos or Merts, while learning his trade. Also, Carter on debut was part of a dominant team that outclassed Wales 55-3. So, not a fair comparison IMO.
Bam! And now the hope is gone
A 20 year old Mounga or Carter or BB or Larkem wouldn’t have done any better than Lolesio. Players like Tate McD, Fraser McWr, Liam Wright, Lolesio, Angus Bell etc will win some silverware for Aust. But they need time to develop.
Bam! And now the hope is gone
It’s a very big ask, debut against the ABs, and no experienced JOC or MT at 12 to help him through it.
Richie Mo'unga rates Noah Lolesio
Nice team roarers.
I’m a fan of Liam Wright. Strong over the ball at rucks, an extra lineout option, and energy and skill around the pitch. My reservation is, maybe he needs another year of super rugby and to fill out a bit, before being ready for test rugby.
REVEALED: The Roar's Wallabies team for Bledisloe 3
I wonder how DHP would go at 12?
The dual pivot: The dynamic attacking structure of the Wallabies
I agree with you Jacko. Plan seems to to play a 15/10 hybrid at fullback, who is the second receiver (whereas the WBs use their 12), and a 15/14 hybrid on right wing. JB best fb in NZ in 2020, and Ben Smith best fb in NZ in 2019, but couldn’t get game time as 15 for ABs.
All Blacks make raft of changes for Eden Park Bledisloe showdown
I think it’s because he’s tall and can off-load in the tackle, SBW style, which they want at 12. Not saying I agree, but it’s all I can think off as a reason.

He’s still younger than Frank Bunce was when he made his ABs debut.
Western Force announce major signing of Tevita Kuridrani
At test level, Smith’s passing game gets him the starting spot over Perenara, but Penerara’s running game can make him a better impact player off the bench once game has opened up.
Picking a combined Springbok-Wallaby-All Black squad
There was an ANZAC team that played the Lions in Oz in 1989. Concept didn’t really seems to capture people’s imagination at the time though.

Jordie Barrett was the form 15 in NZ this year. Will Jordan was a breakout star, but if he gets a run it’s more likely to be at 14 or off the bench.
Papalii is a good player, but isn’t sure of a start for the blues, so he’s not going to be pushing out ABs captain any time soon. Cane has been a bit quiet, but even if they dropped him (which the won’t), there are about 5 other players who would get picked ahead of Papalii (with Savea reshuffling to 7). It will be a crime if Lamapee doesn’t at least make the 23, because he has had more impact when he played than any other NZ midfielder. For a bolter, look for Tyrone Lomax as reserve tighhead.
What will the All Blacks XV look like for the Rugby Championship?
I like Lance as a super rugby player, but would he be Bernard Foley 2 at international level?
Has COVID-19 gifted Lance a Wallaby lifeline?
Bond has to be there, for mine. Williamson at 3 and Crowe at 4. If you pick this side in a year’s time, might have to find room for Jamison and Conway.
Also, IMO, Boult has lost a wee bit as a test bowler. Down about 5 Kms. Maybe too much white ball stuff. Jamison might leapfrog when people talk about GOAT 11.
