Not great brah

Does Channel Nine know what rugby league fans want?

Harrisons and fiens international careers are finished bazzio… Beale and nightingale are good solid players… So that is two current nz internationals and two former internationals…

My biggest gripe with st george illa is i cant see where the points are coming from… Who do you reckon should be at fullback? Beale or Morris? Morris was a shining light when he got a go back there last season.

2013 season preview: Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

I think des will use williams more effectively than toovey did. Williams was playing big minutes and does not have the fitness to do so… With jackson getting 80 minutes in the last 8 or so games last year you imagine he has that spot locked down with trex and frank to share the other second row spot.

If any coach is thinking about it surely it would be des!

I think a decrease in interchange would lead to more athletic forwards more than the shoulder charge rule.

The extreme depth of the dogs forward pack will allow them to play whichever they please… Tolman and graham could both play 80 if required… Seriously classy pack

I know some people that would even argue tolman is better than kasiano! Surely graham deserved a nomination at least…

Not sure if souths should be the favourite for the comp… One of the favourites yes, not the favourite

I agree wholeheartedly with the barba conment… Barba magic did get them out of trouble on a few occasions for sure.

Point two i think you are discounting hodkinson. Out of the six games he played last year the dogs won 5.

Massive graham fan. Thought he was the best prop last year by far, kasiano stole his dally m! He will be missed early but the dogs have the depth to still put an awesome pack on the park.

I agree with you on Norman’s best spot is fullback, but it’s also Hoffman’s best spot too. If Hoffman moves to the wing, will he be able to get through the work of a modern winger, taking the scoots or first hit ups…

The Broncs can make the top 8, but in my head the teams I have coming 7-9th just seem stronger across the park.

2013 Brisbane Broncos preview

Kellet, I am judging Prince on recent form. The last two seasons have been way under par.

Must admit I dont know a great deal about whitechurch, maybe 2013 will be his year!

2013 Brisbane Broncos preview

Clutching at straws there mate… Who else are they going to pick? Tyrone roberts? Albert kelly? Robert lui?

Besides, travis waddell started at hooker for the indigenous side last year so it’s really a great barometer of how good a player is…

2013 Brisbane Broncos preview

Oikee i thought i was one-eyed! Love the passion but Copley playing Origin within three years?! Off the top of my head reece robinson, ash graham and justin oneill are better uncapped qld wingers, not to mention Folau when he returns next year!

Copley aside, who will be on the other wing if Yow Yeh isn’t fit for round one?

2013 Brisbane Broncos preview

Show me a scott prince highlights of the last year or show me a Copley highlight fullstop!

Scott Prince was shown up by rookie half Sezer. Jamal Idris (the titans only real danger in the backline) got the ball 9 times a game on average. The reality is Prince has been out of form for two years, hopefully for the Broncos the change of scenery helps him regain it.

The roar edited my comment about mcguire, am aware it’s certainly Josh.

Oikee, Iggy is dead right. Copley doesn’t possess the try finishing abilities of the modern day winger. Think sandor earl, duffie, merritt… These aren’t stand out wingers by any means but they can all sniff out a try. Agree on Hala. Good impact off the bench, monster of a bloke.

Pot stirrer, what about Norman? Surely he is the future for the broncos in the halves? Wallace would be more consistent but Norman is more creative.

I stick by my prediction on the Bronco’s narrowly missing the 8. Will preview all teams in the coming days…

2013 Brisbane Broncos preview

You can’t have watched many Canberra games last season.

Campese to lock! Our best player is already our lock! Shaun Fensom is a gun and should be looking at a country berth.

Besides, Campo has an absolutely huge boot on him, Williams and McCrone both had trouble giving the Raiders good field possession with kicks. It will be tough on one of them but either McCrone or Williams will need to be dropped to the bench to play in a back up hooker role or revert to NSW Cup.

Cowboys and The Dogs will have strong seasons but I’m not totally convinced on Manly.

They have some top players but it’s definately an aging team, especially the forward pack. King 32 in March, Ballin 29, Kite 32, Choc 29, Gulavo 35 in July and G. Stewart 29. Losing Williams and a good depth player like Lussick shows a bit of short sightedness i feel, however, the aquisition of Chee Kam and Horo is a good one. B. Stewart will be 28 at the start of next season, Lyon 31 and Matai 28.

If everyone stays fit, obviously they will be very hard to beat, especially with the best halves pairing in the comp. The depth is not quite there like it has been in previous years and should only take a few injuries to show some holes.

Why your team won't win the NRL in 2013 (part one)

Broncos won’t make the 8. Severe lack of a backline.

Hoffman at fullback an obvious choice. Wings prove much more difficult with Yow Yeh i think just returning to running and Dale Copley. Well, he is Dale Copley. Reed is a solid centre and Hodges is the only star of the backline, albeit completelyu injury prone.
Wallace is an honest trier and Norman has potential, but has had potential for the last few seasons now.

Scott Prince hasn’t been in form for two years. Matt Orford situation anyone?

Why your team won't win the NRL in 2013 (part one)

The Sea Eagles were ten times bettr than the Cowboys in that match and deserved to win. However, the best team often doesn’t win so the Cowboys can feel a bit bitter about how that one went…

Just wanted to agree with the posters saying Wendell did ok in Rugby. He played 37 tests for his country. It’s not like he was crap like Tahu and got the boot…

Just a question I would like to pose to the numerous knowledgable types on The Roar, can anyone find a skerrick of evidence that Folau played Rugby as a kid. It seems to be a common theme amongst Rugby threads and the Roar is the only place where i have read this “fact”.

Signing Israel Folau is a bad call

Clarke at 3. I’ve been saying that for ages! He has to be there. Clarke practically bats at number 3 as it is anyways with a top order fail almost always assured with the unpredictable Warner, reasonable Cowan and aging Ponting. Also, like you say Clarke at 3 lets Watson drop down the order so we have the fourth seamer.

Hopes fade for Aussies after Proteas fire

Wallabies could definately use a skillful centre…

Folau won't play NRL in 2013

Are we all numpties? Johnno and Oikee are streets ahead with their lack of punctuation and I don’t think they fit the criteria of GenY. But does it worry me? No. Even a Gen Y person like me can read between the lines and work out what they meant . It’s a forum not a spelling contest.

We must bully Wallabies: Wales

Gus wouldn’t be sipping vodka, he/she would be downing a carton of OAK!

Is David Smith NRL's James Bond?

Please Parra, work out a legal way to get him under the cap! A Western Sydney Parra v Penrith, Folau v Jennings… Would be top viewing and good for the gate!

I just want him back in the NRL!!!
