Now that season 2013 is done and dusted with the Roosters crowned champions I do what I do every year and start counting down…
I think Keary is the one they would miss the most. If Tedesco was missing he could be replaced to an acceptable standard by Manu or Bmoz. They couldn’t replace Keary as easily.

As it stands Trent Robinson has 3 premierships in 7 years. He is still very young in coaching terms. We could be looking at the Bradman of rugby league coaches if this strike rate continues.

So who would you want to replace Inglis and Burgess? The two blokes they have are being paid pretty well. Also Melbourne lost Cronk and Slater and seemed to go ok. Seriously if Souths supporters are happy with the current situation then good luck to them. With the resources they have they should be premiership contenders not struggling at the bottom of the 8.

In 2018the Rabbitohs started favorite in the Prelim final against the Roosters now in 2020 they are the flat track bullies of the NRL. They can flog the Titans and Warriors but lose to anyone above them. They are borderline top 8. That is a team that has gone backwards that is not what was expected when Bennett was recruited.

Not spent anything to replace them. What about James Roberts and Latrell Mitchell?

We shall see. I don’t have Souths anywhere near the top 4 and results so far have reflected that. But to answer my question you say yes you think they can win the premiership. Fair enough.

I think there are some decent points made but to call him a fraud is a bit too far. The old argument that he was only good at the Broncos because he had all the best players is a bit flawed. Yes the players are good but are they that good because of the coach? Would they be the same under another coach? One thing that does need to be pointed out is that Souths have gone backwards under Bennett. When he went there they were premiership ready. Does anyone think that are a chance of winning it this year? The focus is on Seibold for obvious reasons but the other side of that swap is not all honey and roses either.

The problem is that fans expect players to be as passionate about the club as they are. Players do this as a job they come and go some stay longer than others. It is the fans who have the life sentence. I really like players interacting after the game. I am always intrigued by who talks to who. As for the Broncos tears a week after the criticism they got for laughing just six days before, please!! There is enough scripted reality on TV already.

I think the numbers on the scoreboard are far more important to the Broncos than to the Bulldogs. Do you reckon Seibold might have rung his agent through the week to check for any performance clause in his contract?

Churchill medals rarely have anything to do with performance on the night. Thurston winning it in 15 is just another example of that. Last year the people picking it had played over 400 games combined with the Raiders. What a surprise a Raiders player won it.

My advice would be to claim Melbourne as a Queensland team. Footy was much more popular than geography in our house when my son was growing up. He was convinced Melbourne was in QLD. Besides it wouldn’t be the first time QLD have claimed players south of Wallangarra.

Never said it was unattractive I just said that if a better one came along. No matter how good a wicket you are on there is always a possibility of a better one and as fans don’t start to think that players or coaches think the same way they do.

Same as the players it’s a job and they will graze on the greenest pasture offered. Fans are the ones rusted on for life but like it or not that passion and loyalty stops at the fence.

I totally agree Rob. I think that’s well overs but over the years I have found there are two things that will send you broke. One is thinking you have outsmarted the TAB and gotten over generous odds and the other thing sadly is backing the Tigers.

One of the best people to get a comment from about this would be Nick Davis. 30 seconds into his RL foray and he had Billy Kikau running straight at him! Different sports altogether that very few players can make successful crossover at the professional level without plenty of time as has been proven. I don’t watch a lot of AFL but I like that it exists.

Read what I wrote. I’m not defending it I’m saying it deserves a suspension. It was grubby and there is no place for it in the game. All I am saying is it’s not the worst I have seen on a footy field and there are things happening in games that are far more likely to cause injuries. This is trial by clickbait sensationalist media. Great wrap Scott . Hard to argue with anything other than the Roosters Storm game was Thursday not Friday. The Rabbitohs are a long way from the top teams. They will comfortably beat the bottom teams but will not challenge the top ones. If Manly knew that Fanou was going to take a knife to church would they have let Api go??

No other team defend as a team like the Roosters. They all work together and trust the person next to them. In the game against the Broncos Darius made a break and SST chased him and was going to catch him. Morris could see that and immediately fed onto the support player in Oates and bundled him over the sideline. Other players in Bmoz situation would have done the natural thing and committed to the ball carrier who would’ve offloaded to an unmarked winger. Also Latrell leaving has made them a better defensive unit particularly being replaced by Josh Morris.
