England have been shuffling the pack now for over a year and still to find an opening pair, so anyone’s guess who they will settle with. No mention of Bairstow who will certainly play and maybe open. Looking forward to the tests and for a return of the spectators too.

How England should line up against New Zealand in the upcoming Test series

A really cracking game to watch and easily the best of the lot. It could have been an opposite result even in the last over. Can’t wait for the last game.

India and England set for summit showdown

England win by 8 wickets , it seems that the team who wins the toss wins the game. Whatever that does to 20over games is anyone’s guess.

Virat Kohli can't believe it after putting down 'absolute sitter'

I don’t know about un-Kohli but that’s the 4 time England have dismissed him for naught him in the last few weeks. I wonder if he still thinks there is nothing wrong with the pitches?

A very un-Kohli like innings as India slump to crushing defeat against England

Every nation prepares there pitches to suit the homes team but there are limits,
IE any pitch must be prepared to last for six days. If you think when both teams in the first two days couldn’t manage to get a reasonable 20 over score has nothing to do with the pitch then that remains your opinion. I don’t share it.

Virat Kohli says the two-day Test came down to bad batting

I have watched all these games screened on BBC, have you?
I was replying to the views of the top rated India batsman who tells us that the pitches are fine when he himself could only manage one score of 60 odd and was out twice for naught, hardly a true easement on the state of these pitches.
You seem to dismiss a cross batted stroke at the beginning of an innings as unlucky whereas I would view it as a silly shot to attempt against a moving ball as many batsmen have found out,
When you see the top suffice of a wicket taken away in buckets between innings you know your playing on a heap.

Virat Kohli says the two-day Test came down to bad batting

I would be very careful if I was you, Australia has yet to play on these heaps. But never mind Virat Kohli tells us the pitches are fine and there’s nothing wrong with them. But then I would value his opinion more if he had made a decent score on those wonderful pitches instead of a big round naught on them twice

He wouldn’t mind if you were paying.

Ben Stokes booed by Indian crowd after claiming catch that appeared to hit the ground

English commentator's savage bake for 'totally unsuitable' pitch in Ahmedabad

Yeah, Root a bit time bowler gets 5 wickets for next to nothing and there’s nothing wrong with the pitch. I wonder if we get the same posts when Australia bat on a heap.

Virat Kohli says the two-day Test came down to bad batting

Every nation prepares wickets that favour their own side but there must be wickets made for five days play, in short there are limits.
What’s going in India now is not a game of cricket it’s a travesty of the game we love. Two innings by either side that was not even a good score in a 20 over game. Add to that some laughable decisions by the inadequate umpires and you have a mockery of a game of cricket.
So India win inside two days play, for all that means but I’ll not be watching this crap, win of lose I want to see a game of cricket

Ben Stokes booed by Indian crowd after claiming catch that appeared to hit the ground

OH Dear Australia got stuffed. Any complaints about the wicket?

Kiwis' next superstars face Australia in T20s tomorrow

Yeah you invented the word whinging but of course you never use it. Look on your shoulder mate, your chips are on view.

Did England have a bad wicket or just play bad cricket?

Of course I would think everybody knows the India has the top spin bowlers, it’s so suited to their wickets and England struggles to produce any, so how did England score 578 in the first Test against the strongest spin bowling attack? The answer is easy, the wicket deteriorated after two days because it was never intended to last for a five day Test.

Did England have a bad wicket or just play bad cricket?

And of course Australia never make excuses when they get thrashed 😢 😢
No mention of the first Test when India were thrashed, of course not.
Heroes on one day, Idiots a few days after. That’s not cricket its just a report on the state of the wicket. One question, if India’s spinners are that good, why didn’t they perform in the first Test?

Did England have a bad wicket or just play bad cricket?

Has anyone here watched these games? I have and I couldn’t disagree more. The first Test’s
lasted more or less for two days the second Test wicket was an absolute heap totally unfit for a five day Test, you might as well determine the result by the toss of the coin. Sour grapes? No, India has a stock of spin bowlers far better than ours. so how did they loose the first Test by Two hundred and seventy odd. The answer is simple IE because the didn’t bat first. When you see puffs of earth were the ball breaking through the suffice on the end of the first day your bowling on a heap.

The double standard of subcontinent pitch complaints

You could almost decide the result of these matches by the toss of a coin, England the first test and India the second.
You could see the pitch starting to break up at the end of the first day. Add to that India’s spinners are better than England’s so that’s to India advantage.
It may change on other venues but I’m not holding my breath.

Farcical scenes as massive third umpire brain fade robs England of a wicket

This pitch is a heap, it wasn’t even meant for five days play, add to that atrocious umpires both on the field and off and it makes you think why would teams want to go there. No sour grapes both teams got a huge advantage by winning the toss and batting first. All nations produce friendly pitches but there is a limit ie produce wickets for five days play.

Farcical scenes as massive third umpire brain fade robs England of a wicket

I try not to forecast the results of matches as cricket has a habit of making fools of all of us. Much here has talked about the age of two of England’s bowler’s but isn’t it’s an Australian weakness too?
if it is, there’s not a lot in the bag to fill their places.

Vastly improved England are charging towards the Ashes

Yeah, Aussies don’t cheat, never head of sandpaper.

Vastly improved England are charging towards the Ashes

Gonzo

I have heard it all now, wishing a killer disease on fellow cricketers, how in gods name how did this get through the rules?

Vastly improved England are charging towards the Ashes

Averages present us with the cold facts and nothing else and there lies their weakness. Take Roots last game for example. A double hundred in the first innings and forty in the second. So a high rating for the first bat and a much lower rating for the second. What averages don’t tell us is that his forty was the teams highest score on pitch with the top breaking up. there are countless other examples.

‘Fab four’ or not, Joe Root is a modern great

All batsmen and bowlers, even the great go through spells in their form and at the moment Root is on his game. How long will it last, who knows. As a captain he seems prone to indecision IE to let the game go on when there is nothing to be gained by doing so. For me I was most impressed by Anderson who broke the heart of India’s batsmen Closer to forty than thirty and not an ounce of fat to on his body. As Stokes will be behind the stumps I would love to see both Anderson and Broad in tandem for the next Test. As for Australia ,apart from two players, I think you have an aging team with little in the bag to replace them.

‘Fab four’ or not, Joe Root is a modern great

Make that 200

Emotional Root hits ton after star tribute

Crumbling around him? I wouldn’t call 263 for 3 crumbling. 400 would be a good score anything more a bonus but the cricket makes fools of all of us.
