And how wrong were the knockers of that 2017 team? By and large South Australians I think, particularly here at the Roar. Plenty of West Aussies for that matter, too.

You’d understand the pain, too. How many years did you have to wait after 1958 for your next flag? Answer: A lifetime. And during this period how many GFs did you lose? Answer: Plenty. Now that’s pain. If you threw out the Pies flags resulting from the silly/archaic challenge rule you’d only have 10 flags. A retrospective stripping of these would be hilarious, and justifiable.

Flathead.

Dynasty may be a stretch too far but geez . . . what a great time to be a Tiger fan. ‘Expecting’ to make finals is certainly something new!

On the verge of an unlikely dynasty

Yes. Collingwood did fall away. This trend coincided with the arrival of a despotic Nathan Buckley who insisted that everything be done ‘My Way’. The Tiges have taken a very different path.

Hawthorn will play finals, Melbourne won’t. Don’t confuse the two.

James Worpel will propel Hawthorn to a new level

Essendon . . . bwahahaha.

Why the Bombers should win a final in 2020

Yeah . . . you’d know.

Ohhhh, shucks.

Can only judge Benny on his time in the position. Lack of success prior to that isn’t on him. He has achieved beyond expectations.

Not the most inspiring leadership group you’d come across. Let’s hope a good work ethic makes up for the dearth of talent at the Saints.

No flash in the pan, these Tigers. All those thinking our success will be short lived, think again. Don’t let your hatred/envy get in the way of logic. Benny Gale, the train driver, is a bloody genius.

Understand your parochialism but to say that Gary Jr is playing better footy than Pendlebury, still, is dubious at best. What is undeniable is that young Gaz won’t be retiring at the top of his game.

If you’re good enough, you’re old enough. And this boy is very, very good. A natural.

Sam Walsh is not too young to be Carlton’s newest leader

Fair enough. Any recent examples, those you cite are historical at best.

Trash talk has come to AFLW and I couldn't be happier

Baa’aa’aa.

18 questions before the AFL kicks off in 2020

We were down at half time because Geelong played very well and we were unable to impose our game style. This was rectified after half time as we ramped up the pressure and took control. Two goal turn arounds work both ways, interesting that you choose to isolate just one example. To assume the absence of Hawkins and Duncan were the difference is of zero consequence. Blicavs playing on a wing was always going to be either a genius call or bad strategy. Scott gambled and lost but stubbornly refused to make a move. Scott has repeatedly been out-coached in finals. Yes, I think we have you covered.

Fair enough, she may have ‘slipped up’. Why then celebrate an error in judgment? Very catty if you ask me. They can do and say whatever they like at training.

I agree to a certain extent, particularly related to injuries at times. However, how much of this type of ‘truth’ do we need to get involved in? Cheap and nasty if you ask me.

Just who is traveling better? Gary Jr or Pendles? It’s a no brainer for mine. Gazza well past his best and just hanging on for dear life, Pendles still cruising doing what he’s done for well over a decade. I’d take Pendlebury over Ablett every day of the week. And no, I’m not an Ablett knocker. Been a huge fan over the years.

Rubbish like this should be left to the wrestling fraternity. No place for it in Aussie rules. Fair enough on-field but to put it out there via the media is low. Does NOT happen in the AFL. If you’re happy for this to take place in women’s footy Ben, you must live in a sad state of soapy television voyeurism. Any bloke who did this would be pulled aside and ‘re-educated’ by his club. I would expect the same for women!

Don’t think Petracca can be considered underrated. The expectations have always been very high for this lad and, as yet, he hasn’t delivered. Unless he transforms into a genuine midfielder he will continually be regarded as a ‘potential’ star. Can’t see it myself. If I had any stock I’d gladly sell it though I believe it would be at a loss.

What fresh hell awaits the Demons?

Finals are irrelevant? Yep, I gotcha.

Why not? We hung tough and overcame them without ever offering injury as an excuse. Yet you use a couple of missing players as the only thing that stopped the Cats from lifting the trophy. Cry me a river.

What about Geelong’s finals record at the G? Some serious Jollywobbles there, Toots.
