If it means getting rid of the double clown act of Phil and Matto I am all for it.

Foxtel withdraws offer for Rugby broadcast rights, Optus move looms

If that is who they want, as long as he is locked in that is fine.

Rennie a good man as Wallabies coaching job becomes a seller’s market

Greg Martin would jump to mind with Phil Kearns snapping at his heels. I still remember them loading the bullets for Quade’s toxic comments. Parts ot the media being the operative words. It still amazes me that after all these years we still get negative comments on the Deans era in this forum when the guy’s record stacks up favourably with what followed and the dignified way he has behaved since, unlike the last incumbent.

Fair enough Brett. Saw some comments recently saying the next international is not till June, hence my thinking.

Disagree Richie. Post WC sees a real scramble for the good coaches. To counter the argument, the ABs can probably pick and choose their coach, but they already started the process and will have somebody by Xmas.

Unfortunately with the number of vacancies out there for top coaches, Australia would be way down the list of any top candidate. The challenge would be great, lets face it OZ can only move one way (up).

However the unpleasant experienes of the last few coaches, rampant xenophobia of parts of the media, toxic politics at the top, too much player power and lack of serious funds doesn’t make the role attractive, does it?

I disagree with the “no rush” argument, the good coaches will be snubbed up fairly quickly at international or club level. I would grab Rennie, make it a proviso that he has at least one up and coming Australian person in his team (looking ahead) and give him the time and support to succeed.

Here is hoping.

Slight difference Sam. The Emirates alliance earns them money by extending their range of options, the RA connection is a sponsorship that costs them money. Real world my friend.

The Wrap: Winx shows Israel Folau how to bow out of the big time

If you are looking for a role model Israel (which I doubt), look no further than Michae Jones, one of the greatest players to grace out game. A devout Christian, he followed his beliefs by no playing on Sundays, even in a World Cup semi, without bigotry or hurting anyone. Time for a look in the mirror son.

"Do not judge," said Jesus: An open, personal letter to Israel Folau

Bullseye. I hope Israel reads your piece Josh.

"Do not judge," said Jesus: An open, personal letter to Israel Folau

“The Jersey?”. That is definitely idolatry. You are a goner mate, destined to get drunk and fornicate for all eternity in hell. You lucky so and so.

Folau slammed over anti-gay comments

Although not a fan of Chieka you do have to cut him some slack. I wonder what other coaches records (especially NH ones) would look like if they had to play the ABs three times a year!!! So in reality although not a good record, it is not as bad as the ststs suggest.

Will Cheika be sacked before the World Cup?

Oops

Nick Farr-Jones talks to The Roar: "We need someone to be a messiah"

Wow!!!! What a lot of sense in what Nick says. The burning question is why people of this calibre are not actively involved in Australian rugby, in whatever capacity.

The passion and hurt with the current state of the game is palpable.

Nick Farr-Jones talks to The Roar: "We need someone to be a messiah"

Great article again Nick and very informative for people like me that looks at the scrum as a lot of blokes pushing. Your comments also put to bed the suggestion I occasionally see in this forum that Hooper should be converted to a Hooker (pardon the pun).

Keep up the good work.

Skrum, skrum, skrum: Where the Springboks may show their colours at Perth

I must admit although I have never met him, I have also never been a Cheika fan, his coach box histrionics and public persona leaving me cold.

However its amazing how one article on the Roar has forced me to re-evaluate my opinion. Well done Michael for having the guts to do what you did and possibly all those coach box histrionics are not “throwing the toys out of the box” but genuine hurt and passion for the Wallabies and the game.

I sincerely hope things improve for you and your team, and this not from a Wallaby fan, but I hope an intelligent one who realises the game needs a competitive OZ team.

Finally well done Jack on both your “rant” and your article.

Jack Quigley: Why I blasted the Wallabies on Facebook - and how Michael Cheika responded

I did qualify it with “beat them” Colin. If Australia white washed England in June, Jones would have looked like a right idiot, problem is they won.

Jones vs Cheika: This time it's nasty and Jones is to blame

Cheika is really not good at the type of rubbish. Gets too emotional and then his mouth runs away with him.

Eddie on the other hand is a nasty little expert and thrives in this environment.

Answer? Stfu, beat them (and I really make this a 50/50 test), and if it happens smile sweetly when the inevitable storm by Eddie and the media comes and mention the score to most questions. And if its a loss leave it at that, don’t even intimate it was anybody else’s fault, it would be like adding fuel to the fire.

And lets face it pre the June series England had to put up with some real low stuff by the media here especially the Foxtel circus. Only difference is that Cheika stayed out of it, correctly in my opinion.

So to summarize, just beat them, the rest follows.

Jones vs Cheika: This time it's nasty and Jones is to blame

This is going to be fun, lets see who wins the verbal battle.

Sorry Michael shot yourself in the foot in the opening exchanges already, instead of saying this has nothing to do with me or the Wallabies, you dig up and try to semi-justify the grubby Hoiles’ line of questioning and the Foxtel clown’s promotional video (from the June tests) and for good measure also questioning Eddie’s Australian legacyA assuming of course that Mr Lord is reporting accurately, always a big if.

Yet you lose your rag over clowngate in Auckland!!! Worrying signs already, better keep quiet and concentrate on your team, who by the way I feel are perfectly capable of socking it to England this week. And if that happens, say nothing, just smile you won!!! Let Eddie do some self mutilation.

Waiting for the Jones riposte with baited breath, but Eddie is a “verbals” expert so the fun begins.

The Cheika and Jones battle will be better than the game

My view for all is worth, Cheika didn’t go over the top ala Auckland, and put into words what he actually felt. However, and this is only my opinion, he could have just congratulated the Irish and arranged a meeting with Roland privately, same outcome. But his comments certainly are not controversial.

And we better get used to it guys, at the moment Ireland are an extremely well coached, disciplined and skillful side playing to their strengths and with great depth of talent, so I reckon in the near future they will take more significant scalps possibly even the ABs again. The lob sided penalty count is no accident, that is what happens when the other team puts you under enormous pressure, and that is exactly what they did to the ABs (twice) and the WBs,

Credit where is due.

Cheika gets graceless over Garces with Grand Slam gone

Mate why don’t you take your persecution complex and attitude and clear off. You read what you want to read and at no point did I imply a WB win wold in any way be devalued. Just that two brutal encounters in 3 weeks might have an effect. The rest of it has been concocted in your small mind.

The Wallabies can expect an irate Ireland, on and off the field

Fionn all things being equal and seeing it is played at Aviva, and also having watched the two tests against the ABs, I would have considered the WBs the underdogs for this test.

But as I said, last Saturday was no ordinary test, it is bound to have an effect in my opinion. Factor in the injuries to key personnel and I’d reverse my favoritism tag and put the WBs just ahead.

Whatever happens it won’t be a blowout and I certainly do not underestimate Ireland. And I have the same worries about the ABs by the way, although winning eases the pain.

The Wallabies can expect an irate Ireland, on and off the field

Surprised that Spiro hasn’t mentioned the fact that although Ireland are a very good team, they have just been bludgeoned and battered into submission by the ABs. It was brutal and it must have an effect!!

Can they get up again and perform to the same level this week? Me thinks not. I expect the game to stay close to the hour mark, and then the WBs to put the away. But what do I know.

The Wallabies can expect an irate Ireland, on and off the field

Its so easy when somebody who knows what they are talking about, and without an axe to grind, explains it. Thank you Nicholas.

Why Ireland have reaped the whirlwind

How else can I watch rugby in OZ apart from Fox mate. I wish we had a “choose your commentary button”.

Stop the whinging Ireland, you're better than that

I will be over him for the next two months, but then I will probably have a re-lapse, like every year.
