Without forensically analysing every foul for the last few years and the penalties that have been imposed, is it just me or do the Roosters seem to get beaten by a feather duster when they are naughty, while everyone else seem to get flogged by the cat of nine tails. ????

NRL Round 7 judiciary: Knight gets ban for tunnel brawl, Tigers star facing ban, Roosters duo charged

The play that prompted Munster to foul Teddy and earning a sin binning, was let go, Hughes was held up and tackled by 2 players without the ball. Nothing to see, I hear.

'Both were really clear': Roosters in a rage over ref's contentious calls as Storm win on the back of two dubious tries

Maybe each clubs media manager just hands the coach a prepared statement to read out for the presser and then that’s it. Can’t go wrong then.

Give coaches a choice: NRL post-match press conferences are mandatory, but only to say what the bosses want you to say

It might be a bit early for Paps as fullback, I’d be happy for Turbo to take over, if Teddy does excuse himself from rep duties which seems likely give the number of recorded head knocks he’s had. I’d also be happy to see Hynes at 5/8 with Cleary as captain. Depends on what the faceless unknown NSW selectors decide in their wisdom, god knows they did Fittler no favours.

'Embarrassing': Joey fumes over Knights keeping injured Ponga on the park as Roosters rally to win nail-biter

A lot of what Johns said is right, the thing is that KP was inspiring even when hobbling in back play, but he dug deep into his well of strength and showed his team that if you believe you can do anything. The chooks were about to pick up another gear and extend their lead then Newcastle bullied them. Amazing game, Roosters won but Knights got the victory. Hope they learn from this that backing up is a good skill to have too.

NRL News: Ilias carried off in reggies with Warrior sent off, Best possible news for Reyno despite hamstring issue

On a churlish note, if Reynolds hadn’t bombed the Cowbies to death the week prior, he wouldn’t have worn his leg out. He’s still a gun to have in the Bronco’s set up, even on the injured list in a mentoring role he has heaps to add to the team. I get the feeling that Brisbane have already got full value out of him during their rebuild phase, so anything more is just a bonus. Mam seems to be getting more savvy every game and young Sailor might not look too out of place in the halves once Walsh returns.

The Cowbies only have themselves to beat in this one. If they go in thinking it’s already won, they’ll get slaughtered though. I believe these days there’s enough maturity and footy smarts to not fall into that trap. Looking forward to this instalment of the Queensland derby, they’re normally great games played with a lot of heart and good spirits.

I think their biggest issue is a lack of identity, until they move, lock stock and barrel down to the Macarthur region and own it as their home they will always be a bit lost. Forget the Balmain part, that’s history, embrace the future and if the Magpies have to go alone then that might be a good thing too.

Bazball Benji: Taking a different approach to coaching Tigers might be just crazy enough to work

It made me ponder on when Sam Burgess had the same happen in the Grand Final, he kept playing and must have adapted to losing vision gradually as his eye closed up. Of course he didn’t need 7 stitches either.

'If the NRL are serious about concussions, where does this sit?' Kevvie fires up after May escapes ban for Walsh's fracture

I’d like to see them change the definition to “dangerous contact”, like in NFL. Any contact above the shoulders gets graded on a few things like, intent, carelessness, accidental to suggest a few.
Lately the MRC seems to have forgotten about head contact again and they’ve already let several incidents go without any meaningful punishment. It won’t be long, – possibly tonight with noted thug JWH returning, that a new, controversial late high hit will have everyone’s nickers in a twist and we’ll be discussing the same blight on the game.

An 18 point lead instead of a 12 point lead with 25 to go, and you’re calling it a match deciding call, there were actually 2 forward passes in that play. If the Warriors had converted their tries the scores would have been closer, no mention of that I see.

The nail in the Warriors coffin was the sin binning, that’s when the walls came crashing down.

Forward pass fix should’ve happened years ago - let bunker intervene to stop clangers, otherwise trust the on-field officials

How good are the chooks?

Carnage! Roosters set up Souths showdown but lose Manu and likely Jared after another brain explosion

So the penalty for incompetence in not being able to count to 8 is to be given a more demanding role in the bunker, what could possibly go wrong with that.

Bit harsh on the Phins, they’ve achieved much more than the pundits gave them credit for and until they can gather some higher quality talent at the club their standing from this year is actually pretty much a solid pass mark. If anything the clubs demeanour might help attract a few specials in coming seasons given their relative success this year.

ANALYSIS: Cowboys put on defensive clinic to leapfrog Eels into top eight - but could lose star duo

Can I be first. It’s a hollow victory for the Cowbies given the Eels were so ruthlessly inconvenienced by the loss of their Origin Stars. The draw needs to reflect the amount of disruption Parra have to suffer during the rep’ rounds and how many premierships they’ve been robbed of because of their depth of talent which gets wasted each and every year. Can we all form a circle and sing folk songs in support of our Parra cousins. Apparently the officiating was a bit skewed.

ANALYSIS: Magic Johnson strikes again in Golden Point - but Ricky rages over Bunker call

Seriously. Mate I’m in the camp of “INTENT”. When I look at the vision I see him trying to clumsily, trying to gain more impetus in go forward. His knees were not used aggressively in my opinion.
I admit it’s all grey stuff but sometimes an innocuous contact is just that.
