RYG? Go the Tassie Rastas!
Devils ready to raise hell: AFL's newest club goes back to the future with traditional jumper as stadium furore rages on
Fingers crossed re no more knee injuries: Filthy down, Gollant next man up or Burgess?
One kick away from the top 8 last year, can the Adelaide Crows continue their AFL ascent?
In the NFL there is a “taunting” offence: perhaps if the AFL had a viable version of this it would take some of the heat out of the game and lower expectations about what players think they can get away with re playing the man rather than the ball. Not to say that the old ‘human wrecking ball’ days are basically over.

'It's hard on your family': Goodwin hits back at drug rumours as CEO defends Oliver's 'personal challenges' in open letter
Seems like straight talk to clear the air. More please as it seems like many people prefer to trade gossip and rumors rather than facts: I’m looking at you, Front Bar. Yeah, I get that it’s a comedy show, but it sometimes goes too far in trying to find new laughs IMO.

Yes, plenty of players need to take a big step forward for the team to do likewise, but they seem to have enough talent to probably do that given a good run with injury. Obrien would be the hardest to replace IMO.
The Adelaide Crows finished 2023 at the crossroads - which direction will they take next?
Not paying overs to keep McAdam and Doedee is a good start.

Top effort – thanks 🙂

The other side of the argument, as often voiced by Hodgey etc. is that the delay in sending the ball back for a free all to often allows the defence to get set up. Well. Hodgey should know – they changed the rules after his deliberate rushed tactic won the Hawks a flag. Ditto Hawthorn and the introduction of the centre diamond because the Hawks were putting up to 16 players around the centre bounce.
COMMENT: THAT advantage call wasn't a shocker - the rule is just completely broken, and the fix is simple
Definitely: Can’t have GF crowd numbers stagnating, can they – so get it up over 100k or people will be taking a more critical look at the performance of AFL executives. FFS all the AFL have to point out is that holding the line is a very good result given cost of living pressures etc. – e.g. the cancellation of the Com. Games. Having said that, cheap shots from the media – I’m looking at you, Mick Molloy – invite media spin in return.
Was there really a 'full house’ at the AFL grand final?
The Good: Crows primed for natural growth in 2024 from Thilthorpe, Soligo, Rachele, Pedlar, Michelaney, Scholl, Gollant, Nankervis, Borlase, etc.
The Bad: Doedee and Murray will be out for a while. Can Foggy blossom with Tex still there?
The Ugly: Seems to be not a good year for attracting established top talent to SA, but maybe that can be a positive for some looking for a fresh opportunity at a likely finalist.
AFL Trade Period state of play: Why this gun Crow is almost out the door - and destined for a grand finalist
Curnow with only 17 votes wasn’t even close, but then again the top 10 all played mostly as midfielders. The last key froward to win the Charlie was Plugger, 36 years ago.
COMMENT: Lachie Neale's baffling win proves it's time to take Brownlow voting off the umps
“Neale’s focus has long been not on his own performance, but on making his team better.
That often leads to his work being lost for the trees and bodies around him, camouflaged by a cacophony of athletes in motion. It could also be why the umpires have rated his impact higher than the All-Australian judges, given their close vantage point in these contests.”

End of the road for banged-up Blues this weekend, and I fancy the Road Warriors to beat the Lions at the Gabba. So would that be the first GF without a Vic-based team ? If a flag doesn’t boost the Giants supporter base, then most of their games will lack crowd numbers, and some of their numbers are really low.
Why every team will win their AFL preliminary final... and why they'll lose
Any significant knee to the head or neck should be a free against – unless there is outside interference such as a shove by a third party. Clubs should be obliged to consider all such instances a potentially concussion inducing. If you choose to fly, consider the consequences.
