Wow I didn’t know some Roar fans still had strong Ange Postecoglou issues. After this season is over I think Roar supporters need a group therapy session where they can bring all their ‘In Rado We Trust’ t-shirts and Mulvey Out banners and discuss the serious issues they have with the management of their football team.

A-League All Stars concept big hit with fans

^ *Heart

It's time for the A-League to look South in Melbourne

People like Ray Gatt are claiming on twitter its BullSh#t so don’t know if this is 100% happening. Love to see games at lakeside its a good little stadium about the right size for most A-league teams and has Terraces(like those of Olympic Park that will always hold a special place in my heat) but I doubt the Sydney-Centric FFA would allow this to happen.

It's time for the A-League to look South in Melbourne

“A majority of the Central Coast Mariners board has agreed to sell the club to a Melbourne-based consortium, consisting of three South Melbourne directors” Welcome the A-league South Melbourne Mariners Or the Geelong Mariners 😉

It's time for the A-League to look South in Melbourne

An article that describes the lack of a geographical divide of the two Melbourne A-league teams and ask if there is a possibility of Heart creating a divide to create an adequate fan base. http://www.fromthestandsal.com/2013/03/20/the-geographical-divide/

It's time for the A-League to look South in Melbourne

First off Geelong is not Melbourne, different city different culture different football fans. “why aren’t Heart supported more than what they are, they are Melbourne?” The answer is pretty obvious if you have followed the A-league since its birth. Melbourne Victory has managed to maintain its grip on the vast majority of A-league supporters in the city at the expense of Hearts off-field success. “they are Melbourne”? – Heart still struggles for an identity in this city, unlike Western Sydney which has had a clear identity since its creation, Heart does not represent a clear geographical area, social class or ethnicity of the city it is based in.

“but if attitudes like yours are adopted then the A-League is bound to never succeed”. Did I say anything about abandoning the mariners? Although in context of the article “The licence could be whisked away to a Geelong consortium to maintain the 10-team equilibrium” it could be seen that I was was advocating the relocation of the Mariners franchise but this was not the case (sorry if this is how it sounded to you). I was simply putting the idea into the public sphere of debate about the possibility of a Victorian derby.

FFA must save the Mariners from drowning

A Geelong based A-league franchise sounds good to all Melbourne fans. Finally the possibility of an away trip that is under 700kms away.

FFA must save the Mariners from drowning

At least it wasn’t Ben Williams or Jared Gillett

Coaches unhappy with referees in Mariners-Roar game

Good on the RBB for standing up against Hatamoto this weekend with a 20min silent protest much like the protest preformed by Melbourne’s North Terrace last Sunday. This comes after the banning of 20 RBB members and also claims of Hatamoto/under cover police using the cover of grassroots football clothing to filmed away support in Gosford from the sidelines. For more information go to http://www.facebook.com/RedAndBlackBloc?ref=ts&fref=ts . All that the supporters both RBB and NT want is a fair system with the right to appeal FFA bans and the right to acquire the evidence and the reasons behind such bans. As well as a change in the tactics employed by police and security staff when dealing with the terraces. Melbourne’s NT also protested what it saw as the “Melbourne Victory Football Club failing to adequately respond to blatant police/media lies and misinformation and, therefore, failing to defend the innocent and rightful fans of their very own club”. CORPORATE TIES = MEDIA LIES.

Damn it, I’m a MVFC member and every time I try to hate you RBB guys you just make me respect you more!

Rivals on the Terraces,

United against Hatamoto.

North Terrace + Red and Black Block = Hatamoto’s demise. HATAMOTO OUT OF FOOTBALL!

Western Sydney Wanderers continue their rise

“Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘mark of respect’ to Manchester United fans as he pointedly refused to celebrate his winner in Real Madrid’s Champions League victory was pitiful.”?

You must not understand football its a cultural norm for footballers not to celebrate goals against their former clubs, particularly if their stay at their former cub was a positive experience. From Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League at Man U to Marco Rojas in the A-league when he scores against Wellington it is part of an unwritten code most footballers respect.

Ronaldo’s misguided loyalty makes Madrid the real losers

I never said that I didn’t enjoy finals I don’t know where you got this Idea from, what I said was “Australians may love the finals but if you ask the Australian football community a large percentage would rate the Premiership over the championship”.

“time to hand in your membership – if you have one. or the more likely scenario is you a bandwagoner because ange is the coach and MV is in 3rd place”. Sorry to disappoint you Ian but I am and have been a MVFC member since the days of the terraces at Olympic Park and look forward to renewing my membership next season.

I must have touched a raw nerve and I hope I haven’t cause any distress. See you on Saturday 😉

FFA defend revamped A-League finals series

Wow Roar fans are extremely sensitive to this debate. 😉 Now where are your tissues to cry over not qualifying for the ACL group stage automatically. 🙁

FFA defend revamped A-League finals series

Never said most or even a majority I said that “a large percentage would rate the Premiership over the championship”. Next time bring some facts into the equation.

“The media has been far friendlier to Football this year than it ever has before. Many general sports commentators are even starting to defend attacks from traditional sources like violence at games, having a go at the game itself”.

It feels like the attacks from the media’s “traditional sources” particularly in Melbourne on football and its supporters have grown twofold this season, particularly from those outlets that specialize in coverage of the AFL. Despite this growing negativity in some areas of the media the coverage and content from many “general sports commentators” has improved considerably when compared to previous seasons. Maybe the attacks from the “traditional sources” are just another sign of the A-league’s growth into mainstream Australia and it stepping on a few toes while achieving this.

Is football in Australia at a tipping point?

“Well if you don’t like format of finals because it’s not football then DON’T ATTEND!”
Roar fans are so sensitive to this debate, is that why so few Roar fans turn up during the regular season because their don’t like the format and only regard the finals as important?

“This is AUSTRALIA!
AUSTRALIAN culture has provided the finals format for a very long time.
AUSTRALIANS love the finals”
Australians may love the finals but if you ask the Australian football community a large percentage would rate the Premiership over the championship. The AFC seems to agree and that Asian Champions League group stage spot has made the Premiership even more valuable.

FFA defend revamped A-League finals series

New Zealand football needs to move to the AFC, if they don’t the FFA should kill off the New Zealand franchise as it hurts the A-leagues reputation and legitimacy in Asia.

Can Wellington Phoenix rise from the ashes?

You could hear Andy Harper’s heart being ripped apart after Nabbout scored that 3rd goal that gave Melbourne that 2-3 win in East Sydney earlier this season. Harper was then basically silent until the match concluded 🙁 .

Our A-League commentators are better than most

Congratulations to the NT, protest was superb banners were creative and insightful to the NT’s struggle. WOW Fox Sports just called the North End the Northern Terrace not the BWB, someone finally got the message. AAMI PARK NOW SOUNDS RIGHT!

Craig Foster is guilty of this “catering to dummies”, his insights on football now consist only of Barca this Barca that and Messi this Iniesta that.

Is football being catered to dummies?

Well done WSW but if the FFA wants to relocate teams to different stadiums because of crowd issues it needs to look at relocating both the Roar and Phoenix to smaller stadiums. 9000 at Suncorp and 4000 at the Westpac Stadium is beyond a joke.
