You have to be realistic here…Sure we lost Beams, which was a shock to all but we managed to sneak in Lachie Neale (who in my opinion is a better ball winner at this stage in his career than Beams) , Linc McCarthy and Marcus Adams. Our younger players had good exposure last year and the development in these kids was evident towards the end of they year, throw in another season with Luke Hodge down back playing that quarter back role and Harris Andrews playing the role of the key defender and you get a fairly decent spine through the ground. Sure Hipwood has a bit further to go in terms of his body and endurance but he has shown some signs of being an amazing player. The Brisbane Lions will be finals contenders in the next 2-3 years, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
