I have been an avid League Fan since 1964. I can prove that, by admitting sticking with Souths to this present day! I LOVE the game! I have 4 Great Kids and a wonderful wife of 32 years.

I’ve watched that third game 3 times now and one thing sticks out to me and, that was that Qld played like a team and NSW played like 17 individuals.
If you carefully watch Cleary, you’ll see that with 15 mins to go he threw the ”Dummy” and ran himself 6 times. Why?
I reckon he didn’t want to be blamed for that loss coming and, he was trying to boost his stats. THAT is the mentality of NSW players and THAT mentality has been nurtured there by the Coach for the past few years. THAT lack of leadership was on show by Fittler after the game by not taking responsibility for the loss and trying to shift the light onto Jai Arrow. That was pure primal tactics. Listen to Fittlers post game comments and you’ll learn more about Brad Fittler than any interview where he’s carefully ‘presenting a persona’.
Look at just a bit of his style when success has gone missing.
Fittler hung Cody Walker out to dry after last years 1st loss and wiped his hands of him. It almost destroyed the bloke as a footballer. This year he hung Keary out to dry for the 1st loss.
Have you heard Fittler take ANY blame for the loss? even once?

Fittler made huge errors in my opinion by his dumb selections which I won’t bother going into here. Gutherson and Wighton were shown up in game 1 and Fittler’s pride stopped him from making the changes necessary. He had 2 good specialist young Centre’s who would have done the job but….
NSW problem lies in their leadership and, that leadership problem is OFF the park not on it. Players will give their body and soul to a Coach who will protect them and back them. This is why Bennett is so successful. Fittler’s history is all about Brad Fittler and deep down, the players know it.
They’ll perform at their best for many reasons but, they will be unable to give what it takes when the blowtorch is applied. When it really really counts because, they will always choose self preservation over team success when they know that the team success will be hijacked by those who are undeserved of it anyway.
I think that’s what really happened to the NSW Blues and it’s been happening for a while.

Ten talking points from Origin 3

Ray HAS had his day but that is not the only thing wrong with the Channel 9 telecast. The Producer should be hanged from the Wally Lewis statue at Lang Park.
Seriously, I’m sick of looking at crowds or injured players or, guys sitting on the bench while the game is underway with Ray spruiking some terrible 9 TV show coming up tomorrow night.
We miss a lot of footy while this stupid Producer calls the shots. We look at the colour of players boots or, their tattoo’s or any other bit of garbage they can find to comment on.
I’m also sick (literally sometimes) with the change of camera’s from the side of play to behind the play to above the play. None of these camera angles adds much to the viewing pleasure. All it does is makes me giddy and makes the game hard to follow.
And one last point. Whoever told Ray he was funny?? ‘Cause he aint! He must be a nice bloke but he has a limited personality with no humour!
I also turn the sound off!

Hey Ray, it's time to call it a day

The hit was late. Whether he deserved 5-7 weeks is debatable based on the other charges but, I thought he should’ve been sent off for the hit it was that late.
The Judiciary is THE biggest joke in the NRL and, that’s saying something! But this whole “The NRL is against the Cowboys” crap just shows you the small minds that inhabit the people up north!

Cowboys fined over coach comments

Another thing.

If we HAVE to make sure that the play leading up to the try is legal then what about the previous tackles?? They are just as relevant.
Why do the Refs limit the video review to the previous tackle?

The answer is that the on field Refs decision up to that point is accepted as correct. If that is the case, why can’t we accept the Refs decision for a try?? If the Ref decisions are acceptable for the majority of the game they have to be acceptable for the awarding of points as well.
The Video ref is the major tool of the Fun Police.

Video referee stealing the heart of the game away

I agree with you fiver. The vid ref may get some calls right, it may get the majority of the calls right however it goes against the spirit of the game and kills all atmosphere at the game. TV is another issue but for the paying fan at the game, it’s a killer.

We just don’t need it and I believe we need to get used to the fact that mistakes will happen regardless of technology

Video referee stealing the heart of the game away

I don’t feel like I’m wasting my breath. The more we fans have the ability to air our views, the more pressure is applied to the ARLC to meet the fans expectations.
What has transpired for donkeys years, can change, if we can find avenues to air our grievances and get the message through that we fans, won’t allow ourselves to be treated like idiots.

The amazing, fantastic NRL Judiciary

How can you prove intent???
You’d have to employ a Psychic with mind reading abilities. It’s crazy!

That tackle was the ugliest tackle I think I’ve seen on a footy field, but it was made ugly by Dylan Farrell acting as a type of fulcrum. It was a sensationally ugly tackle, but I still thought more accidental than intentional. I thought Inglis hit him in the chest first but because it was a bad look for the game, the Officials seem to go into damage control and try and hang the guy.
If it wasn’t Inglis but Isaac Luke who made that tackle, he probably would’ve got 10 weeks.
This is the area where the game has to grow a set! Bad and sensational publicity should NOT drive the result.
