You are saying u5 afl teams have 25 players but apparently you know where the elite players of football come from. So why are the 5 nsw A League teams if vic is the only elite state? Football is a national game, not a one state thing.

There are around 17 districts in nsw. Just 1 district of Macarthur has more juniors drvisions than all of afl in nsw.
Vic has won made it to the semis of more ffa cups so its strange how there is no traditional state for football with each state having a high participation rate for its population.
Ffa cup is a tournament where A League clubs play clubs from state and npl leagues. Let me guess another thing the AFL dosnt do because the VFL league is closed to reserve clubs for the AFL? And than each district in vic never plays any other district? Sounds like quite a standard of competition. Not only wont CLUBS not nations, play internationally, they wont play other states not even within a state.

So the numbers in vic look pretty similar for football and afl in that case. You can call me silly all you want but its true.

Mate how is a 1st u12 division with 6 teams a serious season worth of afl? I clicked a nunber of divisions and its 6 teams. 6×244 is a lot less than 185×12. For mini roos there is 5 on a pitch and than 7 and 11 a side starts around u11. How does it work for afl?

Yeah but which late teens player has made it onto a world cup stage as a midfielder in recent Australian history? Plus who in the socceroos has come on a big game and made a difference in recent history? Guys like jmac, kruise,Leckie, nabbout didnt do much in the socceroos. How many goals have been scored in group stages by a striker or attackive mid in open play?
Its easier to look good as a defender or defensive midfield when you are under attack for the whole game.
Maybe Arzani may come on as a winger again for a short spell. I think its a nice card to have up your sleeve.

The end product was dangerous situations and breaking down the opponent’s formation. How do you defend a half pitch pass? How do you set up against it. If these keep coming every 5 to 10 minutes all of a sudden you have broken the other teams’s structure. I remember Mooy had something like a season rate of 10 goals and 20 assists at City but he was probably mid 20s instead of Arzani in late teens.

I was wrong on the salary cap. But right that the top 2 footballers earn more than the entire afl league.
I still maintain there are more football clubs and teams for juniors especially in metro Melbourne. You haven’t shown otherwise as there is not even a list of the leaguea for afl.
50% of afl membership is aus kick, no game membership and 3 game membership.
Aflw cap out at $36k a year. Footballers in womens league can make more than most male afl players.
Nsw almost have more people playing football than the whole country does afl.
Concussions are an extreme risk for an afl career.

I think you can have fun and play a technically good game. The main difference is the training sessions and formation. The kids loved playing for the coach that was winning 40.0 and they were becoming top footballers from a young age.

Afl can keep growing as can football and rugby. The key is that kids can get away from screens and do something in a team environment.
