Reckon you should save your energies tonight for next week then mate ;). They might be pretty tired, their Sunday game is delayed as they are stuck in Dubai, and they play on Wednesday again already. Ripe for picking…

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 25

With the Nix / CCM, goal differential doesn’t come into it, at least not until after total number of wins. CCM have 1 more win, so if they win the last two it doesn’t matter what the Nix do. At this stage the Nix only finish first if they get more competition points than CCM, so need an upset there somewhere and the Nix to hold their nerve.

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 25

Not necessarily, but it depends if someone like Metcalf or Chanel can step up in the mean time. But maybe we should just win with SJ there just to be sure…

Fisher-Harris on his way out of Panthers to join NRL rivals after 'one of the game's elite players' gets early release

Certainly takes the sting out of losing AFB, suddenly that premiership window isn’t look as tight as I thought.

Perhaps, but I think it often feels that way after a World Cup. This is a particularly large transition, but I think the players will emerge.

The forgotten leader Razor must pick for the All Blacks - and why it could change who wears the prized No.10 jersey

It’s Cam Roigard for sure, would have been a breakout representative year for him without that injury. A few other interesting young prospects as well, like Ratima, who are a year or two away still.

On the one hand I’m surprised Aloiai was even charged, figured they would just let it go completely. But him only getting 1 week does highlight the Lussick one was purely based on the outcome of the conclusion, not the level of contact or recklessness in the first place. It has been amusing seeing people online (not here so much) being outraged he was even charged though. Like they missed last week entirely.

NRL Round 6 judiciary: Aloiai banned but Joey says hit 'just an accident', Sharks star suspended, Milford to miss two

It’s the inconsistency I’m talking about. You obviously don’t even know about the Freddy Lussick hit, maybe look that up and come back to apologise.

DCE and Johnson put on masterclass as Warriors and Manly can't be split after controversial Bunker call

Laugh all you want, I bet he won’t even be charged.

DCE and Johnson put on masterclass as Warriors and Manly can't be split after controversial Bunker call

Absolutely. This one was worse than the one Freddy did. More proof that one was 100% based on the injury and not the action. There will be nothing further taken on this one.

Good honesty on that play mate. Man the ref was garbage both ways though, made for a frustrating encounter. I think both teams are finals bound, and no shame taking the point away.

Absolutely nothing controversial with that call, always a penalty. Silly play by Manly charging in given the situation and range. Freddy Lussick copped a month suspension and a send off for a very similar hit.

Frustrating game, but a draw is a fair enough result.

Mate, I’m not sure what to say. There is video of it near the top of the article, I’m really not sure how you think it describes what you are listing. He is upright the whole time and makes contact with the leg a split second after the kick. In any case, no charge so it’s clearly not considered something illegal and is perhaps an unfortunate and awkward collision.

I don’t think he has dived at the legs though, he only ends up on the ground as a result of hitting the leg. He is running up trying to charge down, no diving at all. It’s a really unfortunate injury, but I don’t think he has even done anything illegal here, let alone worthy of the reaction from the other team and the ref. I’d agree completely if he had dived at the legs, so perhaps that’s where we see things differently.

NRL News: Ilias carried off in reggies with Warrior sent off, Best possible news for Reyno despite hamstring issue

Cheap shot? He is trying to charge down the ball and made contact right as it was being kicked. It wasn’t late, he wasn’t diving at the legs or anything (I’m not sure why you said he was?) Very much an unfortunate incident, but I have no idea why he was sent off.

He doesn’t appear to have been charged either, unless they don’t mention the ones from NSW Cup in the main summaries or something.

NRL News: Ilias carried off in reggies with Warrior sent off, Best possible news for Reyno despite hamstring issue

Was pretty obvious at the time and he should have been in the bin. Him getting banned now doesn’t help the Warriors, who also had to put up with him doing a spear tackle on Tohu that surprisingly avoided sanction. Just seems odd given they are pretty keen to bin players in general lately.

Obviously didn’t matter for the result (and probably helped the Warriors anyway to be honest), but it’s frustrating seeing obvious foul play only leading to a penalty during the game.

Latrell cops lengthy ban for high elbow hit on Johnson as Souths coach laments 'stupid' acts

Congrats Rabbits and their fans, must be a relief to be on the board. They looked great in parts, average in others, but still an improvement over the last three games.

I hope their good fortune takes a break next week, but then they can continue after that!

As I recall, the incident with CNK was deemed different as it was from a bouncing ball that Garrick leapt up for as CNK rushed in.

Game’s gone soft, huh? League's tough enough without dangerous incidents getting feather touch from judiciary

Complaining, not consoling. Definitely not consoling.

NRL Power Rankings: Round 3 - Eels seal real deal status, Bunnies need Easter miracle, Tigers terrrrific, Titans in tatters

Credit as credit is due as the resident person on here consoling about power rankings each week, but this looks largely correct IMO.

You see head clashes like that and it’s jarring after watching so much rugby lately. Hard to see league not going down the same path eventually as a way to protect player welfare, for better or worse…

'Duty to bend' debate over Walsh hit overshadows 'absolute genius' Cleary torturing Broncos in statement Panthers win

I know I’m biased, but there is no world in which the Rabbits can be ahead of the Warriors in a power rankings. The Rabbits have been just terrible their first two games, was actually painful watching them this round. They would have lost by far more if the Broncos weren’t also pretty poor in large parts of the game. The Warriors have had two very close losses against good sides. I wonder where they would be if not for a matter of inches the other night.

Reckon it would be a great thing and makes a lot of sense long term. Heaps of Kiwi talent that ends up going overseas, this would keep more of it in NZ. But I’m not convinced this should be team 18 – I still think Perth should be first with PNG and a second Kiwi team to follow. Would make for some great local derbies with the Warriors in any case.

Yep, can’t agree more. Golden point has always annoyed me in both codes, as most games that finish on even footing are deserving of being a draw. It’s even more harsh in league where the losing golden point team gets nothing, at least in rugby you still get the losing bonus point.

It seems an odd thing to insist on bringing into rugby, as I can’t imagine anyone was asking for it.
