The Blues were wasteful all night keeping the door ajar for the Tahs who never looked threatening until it was too late. The Edmed drop killed them. The Tahs lack dynamism up front, too many plodders. The effort is there and they are competing however they are really lacking a game breaker.

'Philosophical, disappointed but excited': Tahs lose another nail-biter as wasteful Blues hang on to make it 10 straight

Great game and fantastic run chase, the Bison and Carey were terrific. Thought Bison was a bit unlucky with his dismissal whilst Carey deserved a ton ! Great support from the skipper at the end. Surely he supplants Starc at Number 7 now.

Carey the clutch king: Gloveman's stunning 98, Cummins heroics keep Kiwi curse alive in thrilling comeback win

Thanks Geoff, firstly congrats to the Reds on a great win.
The unapproved spend of 2.6 mill beggars belief. How on Gods green earth does the CFO hold onto his job ? The passive board looking on also included Phil Waugh correct or Waughy as McLennan dubbed him. What a total sh!tshow.

The Wrap: The two massive power shifts shaping Australian and New Zealand rugby

Congratulations Reds, fantastic win, very guttsy to hold on at the end.

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

No issue with Penney defending a coach publicly. However I think he should have kept it on point, short and sharp. Instead he also took a shot at his former employer and then gave himself a wrap by labelling himself a good coach. These are the two things he shouldn’t have said publicly in my humble opinion.

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

Thanks Geoff, didn’t the Tahs and Australian Rugby need that win. Any kind of good news all be it fleeting is welcome.
Rob Penney may have been better off not commenting on the Coleman under pressure narrative.

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

Good win Australia but the batting continues to be an issue. Just so flakey and no starch.

Test Mortem: Aussie aura living rent free in Kiwi minds, Marnus officially in a form slump, DRS needs review

Dumbo it’s a fair post mate, however to counter this I would make the following points,
– South’s fans were expecting a response after the second half season train wreck last year
– conceding 36 points in any game is poor
– each time they took a lead they then lost momentum with a turn over or penalty
– given the brutal schedule to start the season it only gets tougher from here on
– losing Stretch for half the year is really going to hurt
– serious doubts if Illias is the answer at 7
So taking all this into account, Demetriou is going to have to conjure up something special in the coming weeks. Manly were good to be sure particularly last half hour and well done to them.

The not-so-secret ingredient that transforms team into title contenders on show as Manly roll Rabbitohs in Vegas

Agree GB, it is really poor to concede 36 in any game let alone a season opener. I would take Bennett back in a nanosecond.

Thought DCE was great in last half hour really taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Hopefully you don’t lose Saab for long mate.

GB no one has a game wrapped up with 30 to go. We were our own worst enemy with turnovers. Each time we took a lead we would turn it over or give away a soft penalty. Manly have a lot of strike and made us pay. Well done EJ, you guys were too strong for us. Conceding 36 points will not keep the wolves at bay for Demetriou and shudder to think how many points the Broncos could potentially put on us.

Straight up responses from Coleman which is refreshing. Hopefully he can get the team improving each week despite the tough draw.

'If I get this team winning, I keep a job': DC's incredibly classy response to questions over his precarious future

Great day Australia, shame it ended with the cheap wickets. Smith and Marnus were once a formidable combo, now look so out of sorts.
Congrats to Green and Hazo with a fantastic stand and to the bowlers for a great shift.

Green shoots Aussies to big lead, but Smith's duck and Marnus' all time low give Kiwis a glimmer of hope

Taafe was in the halves in the South’s junior teams coming through and think that’s his spot.
The problem with the Dogs is when you have two halfbacks then you don’t have one. Hutchison is not a 7 whilst Sexton is solid and nothing more at this stage. Given all the wraps Ciraldo has garnered as an up and coming coach, very surprised he hasn’t settled on a halfback which is the teams most glaring need.

Trial Takeaways: Problems abound for Dogs after Sharks loss, Roosters-Souths 'reserve grade' highlights format farce

Good on the Windies, great for the game.
Our fragile batting and collapses reappearing.

Shamar's a superstar: Windies rookie destroys Australia with all-time great spell to break 27-year drought in cliffhanger

I don’t mind boring and pragmatic after the absolutely shambolic circus of last year.
Of course Joe is not going to promise anything, coming from the lowest of bases, he is not in a position to. All the very best Joe and your coaching team.

Good hire and great to have Nuci back working with him. All the very best Joe !

'Not a hit and run': Schmidt explains short-term deal and why he 'surprised' himself by taking Wallabies job

No one will be surprised by this game finishing as early as it did. Well done to Head and Hazo for great games.

Hazlewood rips Windies apart but Head gets nod for top honour as Aussies extend home unbeaten streak to 14

Congrats Australia on the series win and of course to Davey Warner on a great career. Whichever way you slice it, his numbers are pretty impressive. A nice farewell on his home track.

A farewell to remember: Warner wows SCG one last time as Aussies polish off Pakistan ... but cap mystery lingers

Well done to both teams on a great Test match. Fine margins with dropped catches and the Rizwan dismissal. Cummins absolutely superb with the ball and well supported by Starc. Pakistans bowling early yesterday was outstanding. Great game.

'Technology curse': Pakistan director slams 'inconsistent' umpiring after contentious DRS call cruels hopes of famous win

Great knock Bison and well supported by Smith who didn’t look convincing at all but hung around which was important. Pakistan bowled superbly early on however the dropped catch took the wind right out of their sails. Another 50 to 60 runs needed methinks.

'Bit of karma': Marsh rescues Aussies - but misses out on ton - as Pakistan take fight to hosts despite horror drop

Why bring up his past form ?
He is now fulfilling his promise which is great to see.
Let’s enjoy his career renaissance, good luck to him.

COMMENT: Can we please stop rewriting history about Mitch Marsh just because everyone loves him now?

The ball that got Babar was a cracker, great captains spell !

'Dream ball': Brilliant Cummins leads from the front but rival skipper wilts under pressure as Aussies take upper hand

Congratulations to the GOAT, 500 wickets is an incredible milestone. What a career. Very good alround performance from Australia. Just a shame there weren’t many in the stands.

Nice, Garry! Lyon joins legends with 500th Test wicket as Aussies rout Pakistan for massive win
