Im neither an AFL or Rugby League supporter but its clear as day the Womens comp was fastforwarded to try get some traction in the womens sporting scheme.
You look at:
The Matildas- One of the best teams in the World.
Union Team- established proper International side with olympic opportunities.
AFL- The comp keeps going from strength to strength.
If the NRL sat on their hands for any longer there would be NO catching up.
You only have to look at the state of the womens game at that World Cup they threw together. It was really sad, even more sad than the mens attempt of a World Cup

Haha an American just happen to stumble upon an Aussie sports forum!
Ive seen it all!
Its funny how these blokes have connections with Rugby League on here!
First it was a Canadian who has adopted the Wolfpack, 2nd it was the grandson of the original South African Rugby League CEO and now this!
Surely its not the same person haha
Why the Rugby League World Cup final doesn't matter
But there hasnt been neutral players in the tournament the whole time. Just make up the nationality of the ref like the players and you’ll have no problems
An ode to lady luck - England miss out again
Hes played 30 origin ls tougher just stop this rot Sleiman
Kangaroos conquer England to claim eleventh world cup
Sleiman maybe after 120 years maybe just maybe you will get a 4th competitive “International” Rugby League team with that single moment!!
How rugby league's relaxed rules for diaspora players gave the sport a new lease of life
You’re right Justin, u/10s would take a final seriously so it would matter. I’d reckon more u/6s mate.. Good Point!!
Why the Rugby League World Cup final doesn't matter
They are still fundraising?? Sooo Aussie Rules is a much larger sport over there. Wow.
But im sure its Rugby Unions fault
Taking rugby league to the other side of the world
State of Origin is the best of the best. “International” Rugby League isnt.. simple and its why it will never take off
To grow international rugby league, we must kill State of Origin
Why aren’t they passionate in Tonga Fred?
It wouldnt be exactly the same as the players and coming from Australia and NZ thats exactly where there fans are??
Surely not..
'Give us our win': Tongan league protest enters second day
Only in New Zealand Fred because they wouldn’t have a clue about it in Tonga!
Hows the passionate fans going for the World Stopping final? Do you think you will crack 30k?
'Give us our win': Tongan league protest enters second day
Maybe Mat Cecchen can say hes Russian heritage then all the whingers can stop whinging about neutral refs. 85% of the players are Heritage why cant the refs be Heritage?
Matt Cecchin will get the nod despite contentious call
Just League Matt.. Canada didnt know what Rugby League was till a couple weeks before the Tournament!
Throw them in the “World” Cup and they get to the semi finals!
All other sport is light years ahead bothe women and men
Australia vs Canada: Women's Rugby League World Cup semi-final live scores, blog
What exactly that i just wrote isn’t the truth??
Cmon someone please enlighten me and tell me where im fibbing
Im saying without the very relaxed rules scorelines will be through the roof hence why all the Aussies and Kiwis are propping the countries up so the scorelines are a little more respectable.
Prove me wrong..
Second-tier nations are the real World Cup winners
Im not doubting it will be shown throughout England. Its only some in the north that would get up and watch it is what im saying.
You have rocks in your head if you think otherwise.
The Ashes, Premier League, Union Test matches are all more important sporting fixtures going on over there and here this time of year which will be in the limelight.
Bennett doesn't rate England in World Cup final
Sleiman you honestly dont think this tournament is followed Worldwide. Even being the captain, coach and sole selector of “International” Rugby League you couldn’t think this rournament is followed Worldwide. 5 countries doesn’t make it a worldwide appealing tournament
England top Tonga to make RLWC final, but not without controversy
You’d have 2 switches per career?
If you do that the every nation bar the big 3 will get flogged continually. Rugby league cant afford that again. Very few locals in the other nations play the sport so they need as much help as they can so keeping the rules as relaxed as possible is the only way it will bring nations “closer”
Second-tier nations are the real World Cup winners
Doesn’t this just sum up the state of Rugby League. Australians going for England “for the good of the game”..
An England win will get zero traction over there atleast if Australia win there will be something in the Qld and NSW media
Bennett doesn't rate England in World Cup final
Worldwide?? Haha thats a bit of exageration dont you think
England top Tonga to make RLWC final, but not without controversy
Why havent they played a game in Tonga?
I wonder why? All the other proper international sports play in Tonga why not Rugby League?
Lady luck finally smiles on England
Its not a World cup its a heritage cup

Hayne flops, Holmes flies as Australia make World Cup final
This Tournament is a farce!
Australia vs Australia A played in front of less than half the stadium capacity in Australia!

Crosscoder you might be able to help me. What happened to the petition you blokes put together to get Rugby League recognised as a sport?
I heard Fitzys petition has got 20 times the signatures than you blokes “Global” appeal and it’s only a NSW issue!
Shows the appeal Rugby League has everywhere..
