Well, well well!!! I woke up this morning with eggs allover my face hoping that it was a nightmare that we’d lost to the poms, but firing up the PC confirmed it all 😢 😛 Congratulations to England for a tremendous win – good luck in the Final.

We did not front up – the poms were hungrier and wanted it more, and they out-played, out-thought and dominated us. Aaron Smith resorted to stupid pop kicks inside our own 22, and Mo’unga kicked aimlessly in a panic. We never looked like scoring any tries – the only one we scored resulting from an England error. Smith should have been yanked after 40 minutes.

Foster is responsible for the All Blacks attack game-plan: that there was nothing to show does not auger well for his aspiration to replace Hansen. Scott Robertson should take over from Hansen as a matter of necessity…..

Again, congratulations England…

All Blacks all over: England knock New Zealand out of Rugby World Cup

THeir back 3 have been selected for defence rather than attack, with the real Fullback Watson on the wing to back up Daly who was dodgy against the Wallabies. If EtM had an attacking game-plan, he’d have brought in Cokanasiga on the wing and moved Watson to Fullback – ot at the very least have Coka on the bench. The fact he’s gone with Slade and Joseph on the bench suggests they’ll have the same game-plan they played against the Wallabies but with more kicking with Farrell deep at 12 (his usual position when at 12). Also suggests Daly will be yanked quickly if he lets in a try or two in the first 30 minutes.

No Jonah-led demolition but All Blacks have too much class for England

Watch Faf get pinged for offside all night by Garces tonight – then you can whine about it for another 4 years if you lose to the Welsh.

We’ve now heard from Itoje, Youngs, Ford, Vunipola (Billy), Watson, Daly, Tuilagi, as well as their captain Farrell, all stressing that they’re “not afraid of the All Blacks”, they “bleed like the rest of us”, that they’re beatable (of course they are!!), etc. It sounds like they’re trying to convince themselves…

Compare and contrast with the All Blacks – we’ve only heard the usual platitudes from those we should be hearing from: the coach and his skipper.

That’s gotta be your IQ…

What do you Saffers call an “offside”? When Faf is helping your halfback get the ball from under the 8’s feet? 😂 😂 😂

What is it with England rugby players that they feel compelled to tell the world how they’r not afraid of the All Blacks, that they have “figured out how to beat them”, etc etc etc??? Over the last 24 hours, we’ve now had the dubious honour of reading words of wisdom from Itoje, Billy Vunipola, Youngs, Ford, Marler, “Michael” Lawes, Daly, – on top of the mutterings from their coaching staff!!
It feels like they’re trying to convince themselves…Pressure?? What pressure??

Nothing “nitpicking” about calling an offside an offside!!!

I guess Fa’s offside play Big difference betyween “harassing” and being offside. You clearly can’t differentiate between the two…

I hope EtM agrees with you.

“Wales v England final?”
Not in this lifetime 😱

Can England dethrone the All Blacks in their World Cup semi-final?

Hahaha..can’t we all 👍 . Good luck for your team tomorrow – Rugby Union is the glue that binds us all across the vast distances and gives us a chance to tease one another and enjoy the banter. Win lose or draw, the better team will win and hopefully go through and win the Final…

You’re welcome. Do you want to know the result of the Brexit vote??? 😛

All the ABs will do is for Read to take the ball up, recycle it for the next carrier and keep doing it ’til they ready to release it to the runners. Faf was lucky not to get called offside in those matches. Besides, Youngs is so slow he’d have to start an hour before kick-off to get near the ball…

Eddie Jones has been able to field Mako Vunipola, Billy Vunipola and Tuilagi on the pitch at the same time for about 200 minutes of his four years.

Hahaha!! I don’t think it’s as dramatic as you’re hoping it to be. All it means is those 3 players are very injury-prone, something which has clearly influenced EtM’s bench selection. None of them will last the full match and will be either injured off or yanked because of their performance.

Lovely gesture but then such acts of consideration were taken for granted as automatic acts without expectations of any returns.

Don’t remind me about being plastered that day – we had to watch the replay and highlights on Sunday to realise Greg Cornelson had scored 4 tries !! 😛 😛 😛

All Blacks spring make surprising line-up change for semi-final against England

The All Blacks have worked out how to minimise the “impact” of Tuilagi and Billy Vunipola. Tuilagi will need to come in to get the ball from the forwards because Farrell stands deep to kick the leather off the ball all night – and when he does, he’ll find Savea, Barrett and Read waiting to pummel him.

The pom 23 was very predictable – which makes their game-plan just as predictable. Hansen won the mind games by announcing his 23 five hours early for EtM’s benefit. Any surprise selections EtM might have been contemplating were quickly snuffed out by Hansen’s forwards-biased 23, forcing EtM to gamble on the same 23 to play the same game-plan they did against the Wallabies.

Predictable? Yep. Stronger? Nope. This lot couldn’t put the All Blacks away last year at the end of our season, the way the 2012 version did. What makes you think they can do it on Saturday, when the All Blacks are as well-rested as the England team?

Hansen would be happy with that expected pom 23 which telegraphs to Hansen the game-plan EtM will play – rinse and repeat the tactics they used against the Wallabies. He must have been tempted to put Cokanasiga on the bench for Joseph but he must be a little worried about Tuilagi lasting and Daly going AWOL in defence if the All Blacks score a couple of tries in the first 20.
This is the match the poms have been clamouring for since they had that bonus-generating (for EtM) unbeaten run a couple of years back. This England 23 is not as strong or talented as the one that beat us in 2012. This could get really ugly for them…

Congratulations 👍 👍 . My first ever attendance at a Test at Eden Park was the 1978 Greg Cornelson Test where he scored 4 tries to set up the Aussie win 30-16. Three memorable things that are still fresh today: first was how small Philip Leishman was/is: I nearly walked over him while he was fluffing around with his microphone and film crew. Second was the crowd – people were down a metre or two from the sidelines all around the park, without being hassled by any security. And of course Greg Cornelson’s record-setting feat…

Oh for the good old days… 😂

England 23 Vs All Blacks:

Daly still at Fullback woo hoo!!

Elliot Daly, Anthony Watson, Manu Tuilagi, Owen Farrell, Jonny May, George Ford, Ben Youngs, Billy Vunipola, Sam Underhill, Tom Curry, Courtney Lawes, Maro Itoje, Kyle Sinckler, Jamie George, Mako Vunipola.

Reserves: Luke Cowan-Dickie, Joe Marler, Dan Cole, George Kruis, Mark Wilson, Willi Heinz, Henry Slade, Jonathan Joseph.

Tuilagi will not last the full 80. One hard tackle and he’ll limp all over the park again…

EtM should be announcing his 23 in a minute or so. I wonder if he’ll have some surprises – like bringing Cokanasiga on to the wing and drop Watson to FB? Or start with Kruis, Laws and Itoje…

I’m quietly confident that we will do the job on Saturday by 20+ points.

All Blacks spring make surprising line-up change for semi-final against England

Eddie-the-mouth has to decide on his line-out options now he’s seen Hansen’s 4 jumpers in the run-on 15, plus Tuipulotu to come off the bench. Does he start with Laws and Itoje or bring Kruis into the starting 15 and drop Underhill to the bench? The ABs have signalled they’ll contest the poms’ line-out and scrums.
I’m expecting Ford to start at 10 restoring Farrell to his usual deep position from where he can kick safely all night long!! Watson to Fullback? Daly was terrible against your lot – I would go out on a limb and bring Cokanasiga on the wing to mark Bridge and move Watson to FB…
Can’t wait…
