great article cam! I agree that the wallabies combination of a very powerful tight 5 and a dangerous backline could be the basis of our success. there has also been great fanfare over eddie jones’ return which i’m not sure he has earnt in his current capacity but according to tupou they’ve been holding things back !

You just spelt his name wrong again its Fainga’a you are still writing rubbish I’m afraid.

Jumping the gun by a few weeks: A Wallabies 23 to face the Poms

Hi pm, I think maybe spending a little more time on the article would help with some errors. 16 is a replacement hooker, not 17, Anthony Fainga’a was in the centres and absolutely not in the running to be our hooker this year, and Jamie George is an Englishman ??? Also, half the players just don’t have an explanation? An exciting topic to write about but come on this was rubbish.

Jumping the gun by a few weeks: A Wallabies 23 to face the Poms

Great article, I think the Brumbies and the Australian teams as a whole (minus the rebels) are looking really good this year.

Are the Brumbies under pressure after a narrow escape in Round 1?

Hi Sebastian, I love the ordering of your team (why did you start with 10?). Having seen Robertson play for the past few years, I can’t quite see him being in our best 15. I think Angus Bell is developing really well and has the ball carrying and in particular the scrummaging ability to be a great loosehead. Otherwise great team.

How should the Wallabies line up going into the 2023 World Cup?

Great article, although first and foremost Australia need to start playing ODI cricket again. It being the second last year in the world cup cycle, as well as scheduling being very difficult at the moment has led to a bit of a natural stall in interest. Regular cricket and a world cup will do wonders.

Four ways to reinvigorate the ODI format

smith started as a leggie that affected his average as well

‘Fab four’ or not, Joe Root is a modern great

I can’t really see Banks or DHP but I know Maddocks played flyhalf all through school. However, he seems more of a strike runner and doesn’t seem at all composed enough to play there professionally.

So who should play ten for Australia?

That aged well….

So who should play ten for Australia?

I am very hopeful for the argentinians to do some damage. However, as the vast majority of their squad has not played rugby for a long time, I don’t think they will come close. Furthermore, Michael Cheika is now a part of their coaching team so they have even less of a chance.

So who should play ten for Australia?

Yeah that might have been a good idea. However i did want to mention Mack Mason and Ben Donaldson.

So who should play ten for Australia?

I still stand by the comment about James O’Connor not being a natural ten. You saw in bledisloe 1 and the first half of 2, that Toomua was the one directing play and most often standing at first receiver. And after he was injured in bledisloe 2, O’Connor struggled. And in regards to Toomua still being around in 2023, Matt is quite an injury prone player. Picking up quite frequent injuries throughout his career. While you might be able to fully recover when your young, the ability and desire to do so greatly diminishes with age. Furthermore, the importance of a world-class fly half is obvious. France have been average the past few years and they have almost immediately improved after the rise of Roman Ntemack and Anton Dupont

So who should play ten for Australia?

Having seen highlights of him from his time at Nudgee, he does seem like a great talent. However, the brumbies seemed reluctant to use him, at least in 2020. Hopefully we see a lot more of him next year!

So who should play ten for Australia?

Even as a diehard brumbies fan I am happy that Joe Powell is leaving. While I thought he was very good, I didn’t want to see his talent wasted playing second fiddle to Nic White. Matt Philip is a huge loss, was turning into a world class second rower. Joins Arnold, Coleman, Skelton and Carter as Australian locks not playing in or for Australia.

Rebels sign Brumbies halfback Joe Powell

you cant have players making contact with their shoulder to someone’s head it isn’t safe. And under world rugby’s guidelines there’s no other choice than a red.

How the bench warmed Australian hearts in Brisbane

I doubt his selection of hooper was a factor in his sacking.

Wallabies Bledisloe 4 DIY player ratings vs New Zealand: The results

Yes don’t rate him by his on field performances or what the coach thinks of him, rate him by what a bunch of very negative thinking fans think.

Wallabies Bledisloe 4 DIY player ratings vs New Zealand: The results

People always think Michael Hooper is an average tackler because you never notice all the hits he makes and only notice the ones where he’s sprinted back to cover a break and just let slip a rampaging back.

Why do certain Wallabies keep getting picked?

Hooper tops the tackle count in practically every game he’s ever played and still manages to snag a few turnovers and do the grunt of the offensive ruck work.

Why do certain Wallabies keep getting picked?

As much as that might have worked for the junior wallabies there is simply not enough size or defensive capability if you have both of them at this stage.

Time for a proper look at the Wallabies' generation next

Hooper made two very good turnovers on the weekend, does that not count as contesting their ball?

Green shoots from the Wallabies' Eden Park loss

Irae Simone has been brilliant for the last few years and needs to be picked if Toomua is unfit. Gordon is not the answer at 21 and needs to be replaced, probably by Tate Mcdermott. I would mostly leave the forward pack alone, maybe swapping Tupou for AAA. Petaia back to thirteen. Tom Banks definitely should be kept at 15 as he is brilliant under the high ball and will be much more effective in attack once he gets used to test rugby.

What changes are on the cards for Rennie's Wallabies in Bledisloe 3?

I’d love to see Irae Simone at 12. He has been one of the best players in the comp for me. He is always getting over the gainline, makes very good kicks, and rarely misses a tackle. Petaia should also be at 13.

The Wallabies: Picking a side on Super Rugby AU form

AAC at 13 is ridiculous he’s got no pace or physicality and will be trampled by the big samoans.
