The New Orleans Pelicans will be against the odds when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers in LA. Join The Roar for a live blog and scores of the match from 2pm (AEDT).
The Clippers currently sit third in the Western Conference standings, even after a shaky start to the season. Kawhi Leonard missed two early games after sustaining an injury to his jaw but has bounced back since returning, averaging a respectable 24.4 points per game. Paul George has also looked good after he received a major serving of criticism last postseason. He is putting up 25 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
Meanwhile, the Pelicans are sitting at around 0.500 for the season with a 4-5 record. After having their game with the Mavericks postponed days ago, they return to face this Clippers without guard Lonzo Ball and potentially Eric Bledsoe too. However, the team still has some major talent on the roster in the form of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Steven Adams.
After a stellar rookie season Zion has continued his form by averaging 21.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. Last year’s most improved player, Brandon Ingram, has also proven his season last year was not a fluke, improving his numbers again. He’s averaging 24 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, showcasing improvements all around.
While the Clippers will head in as favourites in this match-up, the Pelicans have too much talent to be counted out of the game. We are in for a treat with this tie. Join The Roar today to follow the live scores and blog of this Western Conference bout!
