Match preview:

The Sydney Kings will host Melbourne United in game two of their semi-finals series. Join us at The Roar from 2:20pm AEDT on Sunday March 3.

Sydney look to bounce back at home against reigning champions Melbourne. After a three-point shooting clinic from the United team in game 1 Sydney will look to bounce back behind league MVP and Defensive Player of the year Andrew Bogut.

Melbourne started game 1 off with bang with Casper Ware scoring three early three-pointers to start the game and then the reaming big names from Melbourne continued the job to lead an overall attack against the Kings.

Andrew Bogut was almost a non-factor in a rare poor game from the MVP, he collected 7 rebounds but that was his only big showing on the stats sheet as Melbourne held him in check for the game.

Brad Newley was the highest scoring Kings player with 17 while Melbourne was led by their man Casper Ware who scored 22 points in the 22 point win in Melbourne.

Sydney will look to show a much more improved effort across the board as they were outplayed by Melbourne especially on the defensive end where Melbourne suffocated Sydney throughout the game.

A home crowd and the risk of seeing a promising season end early should be enough fuel for the Kings, Melbourne on the other hand will want to close out the game in Sydney and head to the NBL finals for the second consecutive season and go back to back champs.

Sydney Kings coach Andrew Gaze will want at least one more game to his name before he leaves the head coaching job at season’s end.

Sydney is too good to have back to back bad games especially in the pointy end of the season but the Melbourne team is looking ahead to the finals series and are in the box seat.

I was out there today, and while (obviously disappointed), that crowd was brilliant. Almost 15k. NBL has come a long way.

Game over. Melbourne 90 Sydney 76. Melbourne close the series out 2-0. A lacklustre game from Sydney from the half time break while the United squad got better as the game wore on. Melbourne will now face off against the Perth Wildcats for the NBL Championship. Casper Ware scored 30 points for the game, he was far too good for the Kings throughout the game. Jerome Randle was almost nonexistent for the Kings as he finished with just 2 points in a disappointing game from Sydney.

Late 3 from Deng Deng but that is the last play of the game as Melbourne run out the clock.

2 minutes to play and the game looks to be well and truly out of Sydney's grasp now.

Jerome Randle would have to be angry with himself in this game, 1/14 fg right now with just 2 points for the game. That is not what you want from your former MVP player in a do or die game in the finals.

Big deficit for the KIngs to come back from in this final quarter but with everything on the line can they mount the comeback and take it to 3 games or will United make it back to back finals appearance and a date with Perth.

Kyle Adnam makes a three and is fouled. A big shot while Melbourne is dominating the Kings right now.
