Previously known as Sportsbetting.com.au, Boombet is one of the oldest online Australian-based bookmakers, having been around since 1998.
BoomBet’s major claim is that they offer great fixed odds, a fact that’s hard to argue when comparing them against other bookies. It was even part of their previous slogan as Sportsbetting.com.au: “No Gimmicks. Just great fixed odds betting.” However that's not to say they're not looking to drive innovation, one of their unique features is HotBet which lets you follow other tipsters and gives an indication of the most successful users based on past results. So with their new brand and slogan of "Get in on the Boom" it's safe to assume they'll have some exciting updates to their product in the not too distant future.

We know major factors in choosing a bookie is knowing how they treat punters and to what extent they provide customer service.
BoomBet offers excellent customer service to their account holders via support email, live on-site chat and a helpline which is operated daily between 8am – 10:30pm.
Further to this, they encourage customers to reach out through Facebook and Twitter.
BoomBet has the usual range of popular local and international racing and sports to bet on. Thoroughbreds, Greyhounds, Harness Racing, AFL, NRL, NBA, tennis and soccer are all available just to name a few. Regardless of the popularity of certain sports and novelties, you'll be sure to find your favourite bets.
There is a decent selection of racing markets for Fixed Odds and Tote, plus the exotics like Quinellas and Quaddies. They have all the sports markets that punters have come to expect like Try Scorers and Goal Scorers for NRL and AFL, so it’s not hard to find something to bet on.
Looking at some random markets, we checked to see what odds the Houston Rockets were paying against the LA Clippers (2nd November 2022) and at the time of checking the odds were as follows:

There’s no harm in going with BoomBet in this instance as they are on par with the other bookies.
The BoomBet platform has greatly improved since their Sportsbetting.com.au days. The bright multitude of colours really helps to add even more excitement to the betting experience. Their website is simple to navigate with the homepage showing the ‘Next to Jump’ races and sports about to start along with a filterable ticker along the top of the page for those who want to bet right away.
The site menu makes it easy to get to the markets you’re interested in or browse the upcoming races for the day. With plenty of filtering options, you'll have no trouble at all finding the market you're after.
Although there are less markets available compared to other bookies, all the basics are there.
Apps for Android and iOS devices are available through Google Play and the App Store respectively, with both apps offering the same features of the full site.
Due to strict regulations, bookmakers are no longer allowed to promote any special deposit bonuses or deposit matches as these are considered an ‘inducement’ to open an account. You must create an account and log in to see their latest offers.
BoomBet have a unique feature called HotBet, which offers tips from punters and well-known form analysts. It includes 3rd party verified statistics from theGreatTipOff.com, that gives an indication of the profit that could have been earned from their past tips.
The catch? To be able to see the tips, you must place a bet first. It can be as little as $10 per tip, so it doesn’t hurt to place a little bet in order to see the tip, then up the ante if you like the look of it.
Like all reputable, licensed bookmakers, BoomBet offers responsible gambling help. If your gambling is getting out of hand or to be more than you can afford, you can set limits to how much you deposit, and have the option to temporarily or permanently self-exclude.
We couldn't find any particular issues that were worth calling out.
Boombet seem to be staying true to the second part of their old slogan (Just great fixed odds betting), and we look forward to "Getting in on the Boom" as they start to deliver the new innovations and promos. As one of the oldest Australian online bookies you know it's a brand you can trust.
