A lot of hype has been made over the acquisition of Portuguese midfielderer Bruno Fernandes by Manchester United.
One of the most desired attacking midfielders in world football, Bruno Fernandes possesses the qualities that best define an attacking midfielder.
Fernandes is always on the ball, is a master of the pass, and poses a goal threat from range. He is inventive in creating goal-scoring opportunities and is a set-piece specialist who can impact the game both passing and scoring from the dead ball.

Last year at Sporting Lisbon, Fernandes shot to stardom after amassing 20 goals with 13 assists over 30 league appearances.
The 25-year-old managed to influence 46 per cent of Sporting’s goals on track to a third-place finish in the league, making him the seventh biggest contributor to goals in the 2018-19 season. No wonder why Europe’s biggest clubs were at a tug of war for the €70 ($116) million star.
Surprisingly enough it was only two seasons ago that Fernandes struggled for game time in making only one appearance for Serie A side Sampdoria before making the move to Sporting in an €8.5 ($14) million deal.
Fernandes’ performances last season speak for themselves and are the reason he is the envy of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Fernandes created 26 per cent of Sporting’s goal chances, had 27 per cent of the club’s goal attempts on target and converted 28 per cent (20) of these goals himself en route to attracting the attention of English giants Manchester United for his services.
Already Bruno Fernandes has showcased why he is one of the best in the world, revitalising Manchester United’s midfield. After being awarded man of the match in United’s first win at Stanford Bridge in seven years, Fernandes displayed an absolute masterclass in United’s 3-0 win over Watford.
Not to anyone’s surprise, Fernandes scored his first goal for the Reds from a penalty in which he created himself and assisted the other two, impacting 100 per cent of the team’s goals.
This performance has elevated Manchester United to fifth place on the EPL ladder, extending their unbeaten run to six games and leaving them only three points off fourth place.
