NSW Blues 2024 State of Origin predicted team: Maguire set to overhaul squad in search of winning combination
New coach Michael Maguire is considering as many as 50 players for the State of Origin series opener with not even captain James Tedesco…
There may be an official kick-off game for State of Origin Game 2, but any league fan will tell you they’ll eat their hat if the NSW Blues vs Queensland Maroons match tonight actually starts on time.
The scheduled start time for Game 2 is 8:10pm (AEDT) – which is 7:10pm in Queensland.

But, as always, that just won’t happen. Once you’ve got the national anthem, pre-match entertainment, welcome to country and other pre-game ceremonies done and dusted, the scheduled kick-off time is usually a distant memory.
Sometimes the teams haven’t even made it onto the field in time.
The trend is changing, however, with start times since 2019 getting much closer to schedule compared to years gone by – where delays of 15 minutes or more were commonplace.
Game 1 in 2019 was only three minutes late, Game 2 blew out to five, before Game 3 reeled it in to just four minutes.
Last week’s Game 1 in Adelaide kicked off just four minutes behind schedule too – so we could be in for another punctual affair tonight.
So, without further ado, let’s get stuck into The Roar’s traditional pre-Origin entertainment: Origin kick-off bingo.
Will we have another close affair tonight with a kick-off time close to 8:10pm? Will the schedule break down and we don’t see kick-off until closer to 8:30pm? Will this be the year they get it right and actually kick-off on time?
Chuck your answer in the form below – as well as in the comments section – and we’ll let you know what crowd consensus is before Game 2 gets underway at ANZ Stadium tonight.
