Tim Tszyu will start as a heavy favourite when he takes on New Zealander Bowyn Morgan tonight in the Sydney Super Fight over ten rounds at Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, and Paul Gallen will also face off with Mark Hunt. Join The Roar from 8pm (AEDT) for live fight coverage and debate in our blog.

Tszyu is coming off his dominant TKO win over former WBO world welterweight champion Jeff Horn in August in Townsville. Horn didn’t come out for the ninth round after being knocked down in the third and the sixth.

Morgan is a tough, durable, 31-year old fighter with just one loss in his 22-fight career. It’s his opportunity to cause an upset against the 26-year-old Tszyu, a rising star of Australian boxing with world title ambitions.

The undercard tonight also features some anticipated matchups. The most highly publicised has been the scheduled heavyweight bout between former NRL star Paul Gallen (9-0-1) and UFC cult figure Mark Hunt over six rounds.

Gallen will have both age and fitness on his side against Hunt. He’s 39, while ‘The Super Samoan’ Hunt is 46. Hunt was the heavy favourite when the bout was announced, but Gallen’s odds have shortened ahead of the fight. Some believe that Hunt’s KO power and his considerable MMA and kickboxing experience will give him the edge.

However, despite Gallen’s lack of boxing experience, Hunt didn’t have a win in two previous boxing bouts more than 20 years ago. Anything could happen tonight. Hunt will no doubt go for a KO, but if it goes the distance, Gallen’s work rate and fitness should prevail.

The undercard also features London Olympian Luke Jackson (19-1-0) in a lightweight bout and undefeated Beijing Olympian Paul Fleming (26-0) in a super featherweight contest, as well as rising star Liam Wilson (7-0) in a lightweight bout.

Join The Roar for live coverage of Tszyu vs Morgan and Gallen vs Hunt from 8pm (AEDT), and be sure to get involved in the comments with your predictions for both fights and reactions as the night unfolds.
