Alistair Overeem destroys Aleksei Oleinik with brutal knees at UFC St Petersburg
Alistair Overeem has claimed his second successive TKO victory after finishing Alexey Oleinik at UFC St Petersburg.
Prior to the main event bout, the 38-year-old veteran had predicted he would stop Oleinik within three rounds “at most”.
But in reality Overeem only needed one, blasting the Russian away in four minutes and forty-five seconds.
After landing three consecutive shots to Oleinik’s head with his knee, Overeem then unleashed a barrage of punches which ultimately forced referee Marc Goddard to intervene.
The turnaround for Overeem comes after he suffered back-to-back losses to Francis Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes.
