Amanda Nunes has in the eyes of many, confirmed her status as the greatest female fighter in UFC history.

The two-division champion defended her bantamweight title, finishing Holly Holm in the opening round at UFC 239 in Las Vegas.

With less than a minute left before the first break, Nunes let rip a vicious head kick that rocked the former champion.

The fight was Nunes’ first since she claimed the featherweight title against Cristiane Justino in December last year.

The victory leaves Nunes tied with Jessica Andrade for most wins by a female fighter in the UFC and came immediately after Jorge Masvidal secured the fastest-ever knock out the competition has seen, finishing Ben Askren in five seconds.
