They say that if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. But debut UFC fighter Johnny Walker needed just one more attempt to finish his bout with Khalil Rountree at UFC Argentina.

Having tried to bring Rountree down with a short-elbow strike just moments before, Walker’s follow-up effort proved to be the decisive moment, ending the fight with three minutes left in the first round.

Despite being the tenth contest of the night, Walker’s KO finish was the first of the event.

“We are not squeamish guys, and we just both made the same face like ‘oh my god!’,” one commentator said.

“Brutal!”

The victory gives Walker the perfect start to his UFC career, and improves his overall record to 15 wins from 18 fights.
