Donald Cerrone dominates Mike Perry for record win at UFC Denver
The man known as “Cowboy” has cemented his place in UFC history, with a record victory in the co-main event of UFC Denver.
35-year-old American fighter Donald Cerrone managed to tap compatriot Mike Perry in front of his home crowd in just the first round of the welterweight bout.
The win, which is Cerrone’s 21st of his UFC career, now makes him the most successful in the history of the competition in terms of victories, moving above Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre.
Additionally, the victory has also made Cerrone the fighter with the most successful finishes in UFC history, with 15.
Cerrone celebrated in unique fashion, calling his family into the Octagon, telling broadcasters how important they are to him.
“I never knew what I was fighting for before,” Cerrone said.
“Now I do.”
