UFC Argentina: Santiago Ponzinibbio demolishes Neil Magny with fourth-round KO

Santiago Ponzinibbio has claimed victory in front of home fans in the main event of UFC Argentina.

The tenth-ranked welterweight fighter in the UFC defeated the eighth-ranked Neil Magny in the fourth round with a ferocious knockout blow.

Magny was visibly hampered by a leg injury, after copping several sweeping kicks from Ponzinibbio throughout the course of the fight.

Fox commentators questioned whether the fight should be called in the opening minutes of the fourth round, with Magny clearly struggling.

Yet referee Herb Dean allowed the contest to carry on, warning Magny that he must “fight back”.

However Ponzinibbio finished the fight before Dean had to intervene, shutting the lights out on Magny with two and a half minutes left in the round.

The Argentine now boasts a record of 27 wins from 30 professional bouts.
