Playing in the island state of Tasmania, the Hobart Hurricanes are one of the Big Bash League‘s eight clubs. They play most of their home games at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval, but also play some matches in Launceston.
The Hurricanes started BBL10 with an entirely new slew of international signings to help them grab an ever-elusive Big Bash title. They added the number one ranked T20I batter in the world, Dawid Malan, and the previous year’s West Indian T20 player of the year, Keemo Paul, while also landing Peter Handscomb from the Stars.
After losing in the eliminator the previous season, the Hurricanes couldn’t back that finals appearance up last season – dropping their last home-and-away match against the last-placed Renegades to heartbreakingly finish sixth.
