Playing out of the iconic SCG, the Sydney Sixers are one of the eight clubs participating in the Big Bash League. The men in magenta won the inaugural Big Bash title, before adding a second in 2020.
The Sixers were looking to improve on their previous semi-final finish in BBL|09. They made just a few personnel changes to do this, bringing back a strong contingent of young players including Jack and Mickey Edwards, Lloyd Pope, and wicketkeeper Josh Philippe. English pair Tom Curran and James Vince are both returned to the squad, making up the two international roster spots.
It proved to be the right approach for the club, with the Sixers sitting near the top of the ladder for most of the season – finishing second. They knocked off the Melbourne Stars at the MCG to book a home final, where they knocked off the Stars once again to claim their second BBL title.
