Playing out of the iconic SCG, the Sydney Sixers are one of the eight clubs participating in the Big Bash League. The men in magenta won the inaugural Big Bash title, but haven’t lifted the trophy since.
Despite bringing a lot of young talent into BBL|08, experts aren’t hot on the Sixers chances of making finals. However, an influx of prodigious youngsters was still set to make them an exciting team to watch.
The men in magenta ended up defying all expectations, however, finishing third on the ladder with eight wins and qualifying for the finals. They did lose to the Renegades in their semi-final, but their appearance in the knockout phase at all was viewed as a success.
