Afghanistan and the West Indies meet at Headingley today both looking to end their 2019 Cricket World Cup campaigns with a win. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 7:30pm (AEST).
Not much was expected from Afghanistan at the beginning of the tournament, but they will still be disappointed to have not won a game from the eight matches they have featured in.
They have been close in a couple of games, but they have just lacked quality when it mattered most. Afghanistan are coming off one of those close losses, where they were defeated by Pakistan at Headingley by three wickets.
As for the West Indies, they have only been able to win the one match for the tournament. They have had flashes of brilliance throughout, but flashes are never going to be enough at a World Cup
The West Indies are coming off a 23-run loss to Sri Lanka, which took place at the Riverside Ground.
Prediction
This is the final game of the 2019 World Cup for both sides, as neither have qualified for the knockout stage.
The West Indies should win this game. They do have more quality than their opponents, but Afghanistan will no doubt be keen to leave the 2019 World Cup with at least one victory. This should be a close contest.
West Indies to prevail, just.
