Australia will look to close out their T20 series against New Zealand in straight sets when the sides meet at Allan Border Field for the second match. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 2:10pm (AEST).

The first game of the series was played on Saturday night in front of a big crowd at North Sydney Oval, with the Australians taking it out after a fantastic run chase.

New Zealand appeared to have something of a par score by racking up 162 batting first, with opening batter Sophie Devine and wicketkeeper Katie Martin leading the way.

They need a better start this time though after losing an early wicket and being a little slow out of the blocks, with Sophie Molineux, Ellyse Perry and Megan Schutt starting well with the new ball.

In reply, the Aussies firepower in the batting order was always going to be dangerous, but with the top order crumbling, they found themselves at 4 for 45.

That was before Rachael Haynes and Nicola Carey joined up at the crease to put on more than 100 in good time for the fifth wicket, taking the Southern Stars all the way to the victory with a couple of overs to spare.

The innings from Haynes and Carey was excellent to watch, and given where they were, the pressure they found themselves under when joining at the crease was immense. It speaks volumes of the depth Australia have in their batting order though, and if the top order gets going you could expect them to score 200 or more if they get the chance to bat first.

Prediction
Australia have too much firepower in the batting and as long as they can get a little more out of their bowlers this afternoon, they will take the victory and the series in straight sets.
