Having already wrapped up the series victory, England go into the third T20 against Australia with the opportunity to complete the clean sweep and go to the top of the world rankings. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary of the match from 3am (AEST).
The big news to come out of the England camp is that Jos Buttler will miss this match so he can spend time with his family. He left England’s bio-secure bubble after his man of the match performance in the second T20 at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday.
Subject to a negative COVID test, Buttler is expected to return for the ODI series, which gets underway at Old Trafford on Friday.
In Buttler’s absence, Tom Banton could go back to opening the batting like he did so well in the series against Pakistan.
England will also be boosted by a far better powerplay than has been the case recently, with three Australian wickets taken in the powerplay overs on Sunday.
As for Australia, they are clearly still being impacted by a six-month lay-off from international cricket.
Could this match be the right time to bring in Marnus Labuschagne and Josh Philippe?
Alex Carey should definitely be moved back down the order or potentially even be replaced by Philippe, who can keep as well as bat, probably at number 3.
Despite the talk about whether to drop Marcus Stoinis after a slow start to his innings in Australia’s run chase in the first T20, a better innings from the West Australian in the second T20 may have given him a reprieve. In this case, Labuschagne will still be left on the sidelines.
Prediction
It’s hard not to predict anything but an England victory for this one. Australia appear to be going for consistency so don’t expect their XI for the third T20 to look too different.
England to win by a few runs or with a few wickets in hand if they’re chasing.

Langer going all nervous on the balcony! Can Marsh get the job done this time? Yes he can! Australia win by 5 wickets to finish this series with something to be happy about. They are still world number 1 in T20s. That was thoroughly deserved. Well done to Australia. You can dissect the mistakes made by England, particularly in the field, but, for now, this is Australia's moment. They survived the wobble when Adil Rashid was brought on and, unlike on Friday night, Australia got the victory. Also some super work in the field from the Aussies should be noted for restricting England to 6-145, which became an easy total to chase. It's still a 2-1 series victory for England and there's some good performances to be proud of by them. But Australia can leave the Ageas Bowl with their heads held high, having got over two poor T20s for them to take victory in the final match of the series. Both sides travel up to Old Trafford in Manchester for the ODI series. That will hold even more importance because points can be accumulated towards qualification for the 2023 World Cup. England may be the world champions but Australia should put up a strong challenge and I expect things to be close between the two old rivals. Thanks for joining me for this match and this T20 series. Hope you enjoyed the blog. The full scorecard is above the comment section. I will be back on Friday night Australia time from 10pm AEST (although I think the blog may start at 9.30pm but I'm not 100% sure on that) as the three-match ODI series gets underway up at Old Trafford. Do join me then if you can. Have a great day everyone

5 fielders inside the circle. Fine leg was inside the circle but has now gone deep. Agar chips this one away on the off-side and gets a single. Australia 5-133 18th over

Jordan to bowl. He'd better get everything right because he went for 12 runs in his first over and that is exactly what England don't want right now. Jordan has been good in the death overs and England need some of that brilliance now. Marsh on strike. He cuts this one and gets a single. Australia 5-132 18th over
