India can still mathematically qualify for the T20 Cricket World Cup semi-finals but they need everything to go their way starting with a win over Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi. Join The Roar for live scores from 1am AEDT.

To say it’s been a disastrous World Cup so far for India would be an understatement. One of the pre-tournament favourites has failed to fire on the slow spin-friendly pitches. It’s surprising given how much cricket the Indian players have had on these very same pitches during the Indian Premier League.

They now require a miracle to qualify for the finals.

Not only must they defeat Afghanistan (convincingly), the side has to hope other results go their way.

Afghanistan are a dangerous side and they currently sit ahead of New Zealand on the Group 2 table in second place.

Rashid Khan is a big part of their success and the Afghani spinner will be crucial again as India look to chase quick runs.

There’s speculation that Rohit Sharma will be put back up the top of the order as India look to win big.

Virat Kohli always has pressure on him as Indian skipper but the media will be intense if his side lose three in a row.
