The Brisbane Heat don’t have to wait long to get their revenge over the Melbourne Renegades, as the teams face off at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on Sunday. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the clash from 6:35pm AEDT.

It’s a quick turnaround for these two teams who last played against each other on Thursday evening at the Gabba.

Brisbane posted 144 in their innings, including 50 off 47 balls for Brendon McCullum, but paceman Usman Shinwari (3/16) and spinner Cameron Boyce’s 2/17 held the Heat to a below-par total.

The Renegades brought up the 145 runs required for victory with 26 balls to spare, a dominant victory with ball and bat.

Sam Harper – player of the match – made 56 runs in the chase, with help from Tom Cooper who finished not out as well on 36.

Ben Cutting not only dropped a catch, but got hit in the face by the cricket ball and left the field with blood running down his face. He is expected to be fine for the return clash.

There are a couple of changes to the squads from Thursday night.

The Renegades lose Usman Shinwari to the Pakistan squad for an ODI series, and Kane Richardson to hamstring tightness.

English paceman Harry Gurney has been named in the Renegades’ squad.

For the Heat, James Pattinson has been ruled out with a side strain and admit it’s unlikely he’ll get back before the end of the season.

Marnus Labuschagne returns to the Brisbane Heat line-up, while Joe Burns drops out of the squad.

Prediction
Half way through their season the Renegades are sitting pretty in the top four, while the Brisbane Heat have two wins and are again near the bottom of the ladder.

Melbourne Renegades to win at home and remain in finals contention.
