Looking for a third win in a row, the Melbourne Renegades host the Hobart Hurricanes at Marvel Stadium on Tuesday evening. Join The Roar for all the action, with live scores and a blog of the match from 7:10pm (AEDT).

The Renegades rallied on Sunday night for an unbelievable victory over the Brisbane Heat. Defending 164 runs was not going well, with Chris Lynn helping the Heat to 0-84 from 35 balls, until the wickets tumbled.

Melbourne took ten wickets for 36 runs, including seven wickets for just seven runs at one stage, to tear through the Heat batting order. It was a spectacular collapse. The Renegades won by 44 runs.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Hobart lost a close match to the Adelaide Strikers. Chasing 186 runs, the Hurricanes began slowly with two wickets falling inside the power play.

International David Miller finally performed with the bat and almost got Hobart home, taking 90 runs from 48 deliveries.

Melbourne have made one change, with young all-rounder Nathan McSweeney joining the squad. He replaces pace bowler Joe Mennie, who has not played in the Renegades’ last two matches.

Hobart have stuck with the same 13-man squad that faced Adelaide on Sunday.

These two teams met on Christmas Eve in Hobart, when D’Arcy Short and Ben McDermott successfully chased the modest 148-run total for a Hurricanes victory. Hobart bowler Riley Meredith was named player of the match for his three wickets.

Aaron Finch made runs for the Renegades to set up the chase, but he is on national duties, as is Short.

The Melbourne Renegades will wear a special Indigenous shirt in their inaugural Indigenous match at Marvel Stadium. The match balls, along with Dan Christian’s bat, will feature an Indigenous design to mark the occasion.

Prediction
It’s a battle of the bottom teams this evening. Both the Renegades and Hurricanes have struggled this season and have been on the wrong side of some close matches.

Melbourne have strung two wins together, but can they get a third?

Hobart’s batting fire power – with Matthew Wade, Caleb Jewell and David Miller at the top – has got the side close to winning recently, and tonight they’ll go big with the bat for victory.

Hobart Hurricanes to win.

Hurricanes win by 4 runs What a game of cricket - had a little bit of everything, that one! Mac Wright top scored for Hobart and earned player of the match in just his second game for 70 runs from 50 deliveries. He also took a great catch at the death. Wright's fellow opener Matthew Wade got off to a fast start and put 66 runs on the board from 29 balls. Ben McDermott also chipped in with 38 not-out. With 191 runs on the board, the Hurricanes would have felt quite good about the second innings. Tom Rogers took the early wicket of Marcus Harris, while Sam Harper retired hurt with concussion. Shaun Marsh was in good touch for the Renegades and made 56, as were middle order batsmen Beau Webster (50 from 44) and Mohammad Nabi (63). The momentum swung between the two teams throughout the match, but after going for 20 runs in his penultimate over, Nathan Ellis bowled Hobart to victory. Sam Harper was sent to hospital for precautionary measures, after diving over Nathan Ellis and concussing himself in the fall. Hurricanes 3/190 Renegades 4/186

Ellis to Christian, plays back down the ground for a couple. HOBART HURRICANES WIN BY 4 RUNS Ellis bowls a brilliant final over (after an expensive one just prior), and the teammates get around him. Renegades are well and truly on the bottom of the ladder after that victory. Hurricanes 3/190 Renegades 4/186
