Saturday night Big Bash action sees the Melbourne Renegades host the Sydney Sixers at Marvel Stadium. Join The Roar for live coverage, starting from 7pm AEDT.

Melbourne have opened BBL|08 strongly, undefeated so far with wins against the Perth Scorchers and the Adelaide Strikers.

Last Sunday, the Renegades travelled to Adelaide to face the reigning champions at the Adelaide Oval.

Melbourne’s bowling attack slowed Adelaide’s run rate early, but the Strikers still put together a solid total of 174.

Mohammad Nabi (48*) and Dan Christian (49*) guided the Renegades to victory, Nabi finishing off the run chase with five balls to spare.

The Sydney Sixers have not had the same success in their opening three games, winning only their first against the Scorchers.

In the Sixers’ most recent outing on Thursday evening, they went down to the Melbourne Stars by five wickets.

Jordan Silk top scored with 41* as the Sixers made a modest total of 130, but it was not enough with Peter Handscomb proving a point with 70 runs.

Ben Dwarshuis (3/26) and Steve O’Keefe (2/22) claimed all the wickets for the Sixers, but it was all over with 31 balls to spare.

Both sides have made a couple of changes to their 13-man squads for this weekend’s clash.

Sixteen-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk and another youngster Mackenzie Harvey have been added to the Renegades’ squad, with Beau Webster also included.

Lloyd Pope returns to the Sixers’ squad, with Greg West – who went for 23 off one over on Thursday night – left out.

Prediction
Melbourne Renegades to continue in their winning ways.

SIXERS WIN BY 33 RUNS! A much needed win for the Sixers, who had lost a couple on the trot. Another damper, sticky wicket and smaller total (which - I have to agree - is not loved by the fans). The competitive total was put together with contributions from Henriques (20), Silk (30), Phillippe (20) and Curran (23*), while Richardson's 3/22 and Wildermuth's 2/22 slowed the Sixers down. Debutant Harvey (30) opened strongly, but was eventually bowled by fellow debutant Manenti. Ludeman (10), Cooper (13) and Boyce (13) got starts, but no one from the Renegades could go on with it. Curran's 3/18 off his 4 overs was not enough to earn player of the match though, with debutant Manenti's 2/13 awarded it. O'Keefe and Abbott also scored 2 wickets for minimal runs as well. Sixers 7/132 Renegades 9/97

SYDNEY SIXERS WIN BY 33 RUNS Brilliant effort by the Sixers to defend a smaller total; Manenti was brilliant on debut, O'Keefe and Curran also got wickets. Silk, Curran, Henriques and Phillippe made the runs in the first innings for the Sixers. Sixers 7/132 Renegades 9/99

Shinwari definitely a number 11 batter, doesn't look confident at all with Curran coming in. Slower ball, connects, 1 run. Overs 19.4 Renegades 9/97
