We are now getting to the end of the qualification stage of the BBL, with the finals slowly approaching.
The Renegades have had a very good campaign thus far and should secure a finals berth.
They continued their good run of form with a thumping win over the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium only a couple of nights ago.
The improvement in the Renegades this season has really come through the promotion of youth. They have always had the senior professionals in the past, but now the kids are starting to show their worth,
Sam Harper has been a really good inclusion for the Renegades this campaign, and he continued his good form against the Scorchers scoring 37 off 26 balls.
Mackenzie Harvey also showed what he could do with the bat over in the west, scoring 38 runs from 32 balls.
The bowling line-up the Renegades possess is doing a terrific job to complement the batting. Chris Tremain finished with three wickets against the Scorchers, but it was Dan Christian who took four.
Cameron Boyce has also been a seriously good inclusion for the Renegades. He had somewhat gone a bit off the radar in the past 12 months, but the faith shown by the Renegades has been worth it.
He chipped in with two wickets in the west and has been doing that all tournament thus far.
There was a negative to come from the match for the red half of Melbourne, as Cameron White injured his hamstring and will not be available for the clash against the Thunder.
The Thunder are also coming off an impressive win in the West, defeating the Scorchers, mainly down to the brilliance of Callum Ferguson.
The bowling attack on the night didn’t fire for the Thunder, leaking 181 runs. Ferguson though put together an unbeaten 113 to win the game and keep the Thunder in the hunt for a finals spot.
They currently sit outside the top four and do not have much room for error, so it was a big victory.
Prediction
The Renegades just appear to have a bit more talent on the park at this moment, which could be the difference in this clash.
In saying that, it really is one of those games that could go either way, which should make an exciting contest.
The Renegades to prevail.
