New Zealand can cement their hold on a T20 World Cup semi-final spot when they take on Associate nation Namibia in Sharjah. Join The Roar for lives scores from 9pm (AEDT).

Having played one fewer game than Afghanistan this World Cup, the Black Caps sit third in Group B behind them and the undefeated Pakistan: but victory here will see them jump to second ahead of a must-win final match with Afghanistan themselves.

Kane Williamson’s team haven’t always been at their best this tournament, but a strong bowling performance to restrict India to 110 in their match has made a spot in the last four theirs to lose. A Martin Guptill 93 saw them get the job done against another Associate nation in Scotland, though they sacrificed a chance to give their net run rate a badly needed boost by only winning by 16 runs. They’ll be loath to do the same here.

Namibia’s 45-run loss to Pakistan in their most recent match was down to the failure of their usually reliable bowling group. They took just two Pakistani wickets and allowed the tournament favourites to dominate the death overs, a target of 190 too much to reign in despite the best efforts of David Wiese.

With one more match against India after this, the African nation are remarkably still in semi-final contention; but an expected loss here would officially shut the door on what has still been a very successful few weeks in the UAE.
