There's some sort of anti-West conspiracy at play here that explains this result. Give me a couple of days to work out what it is and I'll come back to you.

Called more lucky than unmerited maybe. But they made a virtue out of squeezing the opposition chase. Five titles will be hard to chase down. Best of South Australian in the next two games.

Who has ever said that the Scorchers titles were unmerited?

Mate - I'm allowed to get excited - that was an amazing win. No one gave the Strikers a chance. The Scorchers had won 17 out of their last 19 at home. The game plan with taking pace of the ball was brilliant. I think its good to see other teams in the mix to win - the Scorchers have been so good for so long. As have the Sixers - who are going to be very tough to beat at the SCG. The game on Monday will be interesting. You'd think Brisbane would be more used to the steamy conditions but you never know. The Strikers are on a roll.

Thanks Arnab. Great to see Lloyd Pope put his name back up in lights...and good on ya, Boycey. Matt Short has to captain Victoria in Shield cricket. Connolly, Fanning, Haskett, Wyllie, Goodwin...The boys in the west will be ok.

Take a deep breath, Geoff. I think you're hyperventilating. It will be hard not to see the Scorchers in the final, but they got a long way without Turner. Connolly has a place in the Australian T20 side. Harris was a long shot that didn't work out. Shame Marsh wasn't available but strangely enough, Renshaw will be.. Hope the Strikers can do it.

It's always weird in the big bash when the teams are reshuffled just in time for finals

The Scorchers season comes to an end. The injury to Ashton Turner was a bridge too far for the Scorchers to get through and their impressive run in the BBL comes to an end. As for the Strikers, they can't celebrate too much as a long flight to Gold Coast awaits where runners up Brisbane Heat are waiting for them.

Lost two in a row at home. Well done Strikers. Questions about the quality of this BBL. A lot of guys who wouldn’t earn a penny anywhere but in Oz getting a run

Ditto. Sixers have played their two good games of the tournament. Strikers will wallop them Ends the Scorchers winning curse, all those unmerited titles based mostly on local talent. Still, Evans might have been handy.

MATCH SUMMARY: Strikers 7/155 beat Scorchers 105 all out Wow. That is a huge win. I was surprised by the long tail the Strikers put up in their playing XI. But they wanted to have a team that could bowl out the Scorchers. And did they do that in style! Only Connolly and Fanning looked comfortable at the crease today for Perth. They were outclassed tactically, especially by their poor batting against spin

YESSSSSS! You little effing BEAUTY!!!!! The game plan by the Strikers was brilliant with the two leg spinners. What a boilover. At least Don will be happy that he's seen a full innings from the Scorchers.

Thumbs up for the first two point. Thumbs down for the second half of the 3rd.

16.2 - WICKET Shorter from Boyce. Connolly goes straight off the back foot! Bazley close to the boundary. And he takes the catch after two juggles. Third umpire will just confirm it. And it's a clean catch. STRIKERS WIN
