Sri Lanka will want to head into the Super 12s with a perfect record by beating the Netherlands but the Dutch will be desperate to make sure they don’t leave the T20 World Cup without a single victory. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:00am (AEDT).

It’s been a disappointing tournament for the Netherlands.

When drawn in a group with Sri Lanka, Ireland and Namibia, they would have thought that second place was very achievable. Ireland were struggling for form going into the competition and Namibia were an enthusiastic but weaker debutant.

Unfortunately, two losses in their opening two games has meant there is no way they can qualify. They will want to go down swinging though. There haven’t been many highlights but opener Max Dowd has shone. He scored 51 against Ireland and then an almost unbeaten 70 against Namibia and is currently the tournament’s highest run-scorer – it’s a shame he won’t get to continue his campaign.

Against the Sri Lankans, Dowd will need company at the wicket and the Dutch bowlers in general will need to tighten up their bowling attack if they want to threaten the group leaders.

Sri Lanka will be very happy with their progress so far.

They’ve batted well and bowled even better but they will know that they haven’t been truly tested yet. Against the Netherlands they will want another dominant performance. Wanindu Hasaranga has started to make an early claim for all rounder of the tournament with good work with both bat and ball while spinner Maheesh Theekshana has been able to find some good rhythm, picking up six wickets already.
