The Sydney Sixers return home to the SCG to take on the Brisbane Heat in what will be the third match of the competition for both sides. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:10pm (AEDT).
After an impressive first-up win against Perth, the Sixers slumped to an incredibly disappointing 25-run defeat at the hands of Hobart in Alice Springs, where they failed to reach a target of just 130 set by the Hurricanes in the first innings.
The Heat meanwhile are winless so far in BBL09, having lost to the Melbourne Stars in the opening match of the competition and the Sydney Thunder on Friday night.
The Heat will certainly be desperate to turn it around against a Sixers side which showed plenty of frailty at the top of the batting order against the Hurricanes in the Northern Territory.
Unfortunately for Chris Lynn and his men, history has not been kind to them where the Sixers are involved. The Sixers have won their last five straight against the Heat, their only slip-up in their ten total clashes coming way back in January 2016.
The Heat need a big improvement from their captain Lynn if they are to trouble the Sixers. Known for his flamboyant batting style and big hitting, the big Queenslander has been below his best so far in BBL09, scoring just six runs against the Stars and nine runs against the Thunder. Simply put, the Heat won’t win this if Lynn doesn’t get amongst the runs.
For Sixers fans, they’ll want to see more out of Jordan Silk. He dug in and stood his ground and stayed in for a long time when other batsmen were falling over around him against the Hurricanes. But he failed to keep the strike moving throughout his innings, and couldn’t hit boundaries when his side needed them most.
He’ll need to increase his intent to score rather than simply occupy the crease if the Sixers are to have a chance.

It’s difficult to see anything but a Sixers win here.
Nine wins from ten matches against the Heat really tells says it all. The Sixers’ dominance over Brisbane will not wane in this match.
