Brett Lee speaks about Dean Jones just hours after trying to save his life

By The Roar / Editor

Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee was back on TV in India for the Indian Premier League just hours after he tried to save the life of cricketing legend Dean Jones.

Lee said the only reason he and his fellow broadcasters were working was because it would have been what ‘Deano’ wanted.

Lee was staying in the same hotel as Jones when he suffered the heart attack with Lee performing CPR before Jones was taken to hospital.

Tributes have flown from across the world at the shocking news.

Jones was 59.

True, but not in the case of sudden cardiac arrest. The cases where you just drop dead are electrical issues like arrhythmias. These are possibly caused by damage from previous heart attacks, but there is no suggestion of that here.

One will often go into cardiac arrest as a result of a heart attack.

The doctor's say he died of cardiac arrest, not a heart attack. They are different things. A public education campaign is clearly required on this. Perhaps this tragedy could be used to educate the public.
