'The best one he's ever got in his career': Ben Stokes praises no. 11

England hero Ben Stokes was the difference for the home team as they kept their bid to win back the Ashes alive with a thrilling one-wicket victory at Headingley.

The all-rounder smashed 135 not out to snatch victory from the Aussies in a remarkable turnaround after the home side was bowled out in its first innings for just 67.

Stokes accelerated late in his innings, hitting 74 of 76 runs for the 10th wicket partnership he shared with tailender Jack Leach.

But despite Leach contributing just one run to the cause, Stokes didn’t miss the significance of teammate’s efforts to dig in and survive each of the 17 deliveries he faced.
