Dabble

Dabble is an Australian-based bookmaker offering sports and racing betting on a social betting app, where you can copy the bets of other punters.

Dabble is a fresh new bookmaker with a focus on the social interaction that makes betting fun.
You can see what popular bets are being backed by other punters, including how many people have jumped on the bet.

Plus, there is a chat function offering plenty of banter with other punters.

We’ve explored what Dabble has to offer account holders in relation to markets, odds, interface use and odds in our full review below.

Customer Service

We know major factors in choosing a bookie is knowing how they treat punters and to what extent they provide customer service.

Dabble offers customer service through the following:

Helpline: 1800 DABBLE

Support email: support@dabble.com.au

Sports & Racing Markets

If you’re keen on sports betting, Dabble covers the popular markets across a large range of sports including major codes AFL, NRL, NBA, tennis and soccer.

Dabble offers a decent selection of sports betting markets with Match Winner, Line and Total alongside a wide variety of Tryscorer markets and the ability to place a Same Game Multi.

This offering, while not as extensive as some other bookies, covers what the majority of sports punters are looking for.

The racing offering is adequate, with domestic races (thoroughbred racing, greyhound racing, harness racing) plus some international racing offered.

Odds

Looking at a random basketball market, we checked the NBA odds for Houston Rockets vs LA Clippers on 1st November 2022 to see what odds each bookie was offering for the Rockets.

Dabble: $4.00

TAB $4.00

Sportsbet $4.10

PlayUp $4.20

Betr $4.05

Ladbrokes $4.10

Boombet $4.00

Unibet $3.95

Palmerbet $3.90

Neds $4.10

So Dabble was middle of the pack for that bet 20 minutes before the match was due to start, with $4.00 odds for the Houston Rockets. Overall, the bookies we checked ranged from $3.90 to $4.20 so it isn’t a huge variation, but it makes sense to have multiple accounts and bet wherever you get the best odds. Better odds means bigger winnings for you with the exact same bet.

This instance shows that Dabble may not be the ideal option for some sports, however they appear to generally have good odds across American sports.

Interface and Ease of Use

Being available exclusively on the app is a drawback for people that enjoy betting on their PC. Some punters enjoy having a few windows open and checking stats before making a bet on their laptop or PC.

Being forced to download and use the app may be an annoyance for some, but the app on offer is top notch.

It can be a bit confusing at first when you initially open the app, but once you get used to the layout it will be easy to deposit and put on your bets.

When navigating the racing section on the site, the app seemed to lag occasionally on particularly high traffic days like Cup day.

Being such a relatively new bookmaker, they should continue to make improvements over time and hopefully by the time you are reading this, those issues have been resolved.

Betting Apps

Apps for Android and iOS devices are available through Google Play and the App Store respectively.

Special Offers and Welcome Bonuses

Due to strict regulations, bookmakers are no longer allowed to promote any special deposit bonuses or deposit matches as these are considered an ‘inducement’ to open an account. You must create an account and log in to see their latest offers.

What sets Dabble apart?

Aside from being a trustworthy new Australian based bookmaker, the main reason to join Dabble is for their social betting offering, and the unique features on offer for members that make betting with Dabble fun.

They may not be your first choice ahead of some of the leading bookmakers, but if you’re looking for something different, Dabble is a fresh experience that is well worth checking out.

Responsible Gambling

Like all reputable, licensed bookmakers, Dabble offers responsible gambling help. If your gambling is getting out of hand or to be more than you can afford, you can set limits to how much you deposit, and have the option to temporarily or permanently self-exclude.

Dabble also offers the option to turn off withdrawal cancellations. So if you know you’re the type that will cancel a withdrawal in frustration and knock off your balance – this is a nice option to have.

Any negatives?

The selection of markets can be less than some of the major players, and for people that are not interested in the social betting aspect may find little benefit for joining Dabble compared to other bookies.

The app can be slow to load on particularly busy days as mentioned earlier in the review, but hopefully this is something that Dabble can improve over time.

It’s another app that needs to be added to your phone as well, it would be good if there was an option to bet via a website.

Despite these minor gripes, it is well worth signing up with Dabble and giving them a try.

Conclusion

For punters that love to have a yarn, or like to follow other people’s bets – Dabble is a great addition to the punting ecosphere.

The overall app experience provides something different to other players in the market, making Dabble a good option to sign up with as an alternative bookie to bet with, if only to take advantage of the social betting aspect and to see what other people are betting on for inspiration.
