The Gfinity Elite Series playoffs are almost here, with Week 3 of the Street Fighter V tournmanet starting today at 4pm.
The nature of having a five-week season means contenders emerge very quickly – and that’s exactly what’s happened so far with both Melbourne teams establishing themselves as the ones to beat.
Fans will have to wait a match to see the top two in action, however, with the Sydney Chiefs tackling the Brisbane Deceptors first up.
It’s a golden opportunity for the Chiefs to cement their spot in the top four, while Brisbane – who played spoiler late last season – will be in search of their first win.
Then, we get a taste of the contenders, with Melbourne Order taking on Perth Ground Zero in a rematch of last season’s grand final.
Can Order continue their unbeaten start to the second season? Or do Perth have a surprise in store for their rivals?
The third weekend of the season then wraps up as Melbourne Avant, who finished atop the standings last season, sink their teeth into the winless Sydney Roar.
Last team these teams clased, however, the undefeated Avant were downed by a then-winless Roar in an extraordinary upset. Could it happen again?
