There’s only two weeks until finals at the Gfinity Elite Series, with derby day in CS:GO kicking off what shapes to be a very pivotal Week 4 at the Hoyts Gfinity Esports Arena.
With a Melbourne derby, a Sydney showdown and a potentially historic match between Perth and Brisbane going down today, there’s sure to be more than the normal amount of trash talk and spice.
It will be that all-Melbourne affair to kick things off at 3pm, with the top-of-the-table Melbourne Avant facing off against Melbourne Order – the reigning champions.
Avant have been solid, if unspectacular, but face an almighty challenge if they’re to remain undefeated, as they’re slated to go up against Order’s sparsely-seen top line-up.
Nobody will have a bigger challenge, however, than the Brisbane Deceptors, as they tackle the high-flying Perth Ground Zero in the second match at 4:30pm.
Here’s the equation. Two weeks ago, Order’s back-up team edged out the Deceptors 22-20 in a thrilling back-and-forth affair. Last week, that Order back-up team got obliterated by Ground Zero 16-0.
That doesn’t bode well for Brisbane.
Lastly, it’s an interesting match between the Sydney Chiefs and their crosstown rivals, the Sydney Roar.
Both sides are at 1-2 so far. The winner will likely be on their way to a semi-finals appearance, while it’s almost certainly lights out in Season 2 for the loser.
Make sure you tune in from 3pm to catch all the action with our live stream.
