Tiger Woods accuses Aussie crowd of going 'over the top'

Golf legend Tiger Woods has criticised the Royal Melbourne crowd following Day 3 of the Presidents Cup campaign.

On a day which saw US star Patrick Reed’s caddie Kessler Karain have a run-in with a spectator, American team captain Woods told reporters sections of the crowd had “gone over the top”.

However, Internationals captain Ernie Els alluded to hypocrisy from Woods, saying the Australian crowd was “pretty quiet” compared to some of the American crowds he has endured in the Presidents Cup over the years.

Karain had reportedly got into a physical altercation with a spectator who had yelled, “you f***ing suck” at Reed.

In a statement, Karain admitted he shoved the fan and offered a few choice words of his own before security intervened.

The Internationals lead ahead of the final day 10-8.
